Dying to hear how that's going for you guys. The low speaker sound could be a deal killer for me. But good battery news may persuade me to buy anyway...

It will be a few days before you get a good opinion. First couple of days these devices are going to be put through the paces and battery life will suffer as the effect.

I felt that for YouTube and Music I got better sound, way better, than with my Dinc. When playing a Google Voice voicemail with speaker it felt a bit weaker.

I ran thru the purchased level of battery after about 4.5 hours. Once it powered down I put it on a charger and giving it a full charge before I boot back up. Not sure if that helps but it is what I am doing :)

haven't gotten it charged above 63% nor has it dropped below 43%. I had it on the charger when I was syncing my apps and obviously unlocking the bootloader.

Bought the extended battery report back in a few days..

Good point. But i'm impatient! :)

Seriously, any observations are helpful though. 4G-wise, very interested in how it compares to the Razr, which can't have an extra battery...

So whats the best way to charge the phone when you first get it? Let it drain completely? As soon as you get it and keep it charging after its full? Every battery seems to have a new method.

This is what I am doing. Not sure if it is right or not but seems logical, and hopefully doesnt screw it up much :)

Do they come half charged battery? Looked like mine was but didn't check exact amount of juice left when first activated. But anyways I'm down to 14% since turned on at 10:15 ish (2:20 now) little more than moderate use (downloaded update, birds, ATK) 4g on but not getting 4g service in office where I've been all day. Also turned off auto brightness and turned it up to prob about 75%. Not sure how much this helps but thats mine for ya.

Mine had around 40% battery when I purchased it. Battery has been fine so far.

How could you not buy the extended battery.....there is practically no change to the size of the phone.

I charged mine up all the way when I got it home from the store this morning. When it finished charging I powered it up and haven't really put it down since. Right now I'm at 5h 36m 42s on the battery and it has 8% left.

It's been on wifi the whole time, auto brightness is off on the screen - I have it set manually at 75% or so.

I'm going to let it run all the way down just to see what I can get out of it.

Edit: Got to 6 hours 5 minutes before it hit 1% and I started charging it up again.

Slightly off topic but is anyone else's phone burning up while charging? Mine got really hot.

Would not call it burning hot, but it gets warm. Gets warm too when I use it a lot, particularly web browsing. Not too bad, but noticeable.

I know it is early but will be especially interested in those who have had other Verizon 4G phones, noticing how battery situation compares on a single charge with other 4G devices, ie Tbolt, Razr, etc.

I'm guessing it will be in the same ballpark. Wish they could find a way to improve life significantly in 4G...

I didn't get the extended battery because they told me in the store that it would not fit the cases that were bundled with the screen saver and car charger.

Got it from the store at 57% and played with it till 3%, recharged and then went on my usage spree.

Browsing, more browsing, more app downloading, games, setting tinkering and it was back down to 3% after about 3:30 hours with some very heavy use.

All 4g
Screen brightness is set to about 35% auto is just way too dim.
Screen was off for about 15 minutes for the entire length of use.
Up to about 500mb of data used.
The screen is the the battery monster with a battery devouring 67%

Now I wonder how it will be with just 3g on, a task for tomorrow I suppose.
