Official Cyanogen 6.0+ Thread

What are you thinking about switching to?

I am going to give VaelPak a go. The only thing I can see that does not work with it is bluetooth which I never have used. (my friends and family have been requested to put me out of my misery with a quick bullet to the head if I ever am walking down the street waving my arms talking on a bluetooth headset).

I guess the plan would be to switch back and forth between the 2 ROMs with nand backups based on need for 4G and battery life.

If VaelPak gives me trouble, I'll just wait it out with a fairly basic Sense ROM that takes out the bloatware and maybe adds a few tweaks.

I have a Plantronics 360 (older, no frills bluetooth headset) that works with VaelPak 2.2.

Is anyone else not a fan of the Camera installed in this ROM? I can't seem to focus on small items like I could with the stock camera. Is there any other camera app that I can use that will improve this?

I like some of the improvements on the camera but would like the HTC camera better. I'm not sure if you can just bring it over and install it.

Click on the settings icon on the camera and change the focus to touch, then touch where you want to focus on.

Also, I've been using Vingette, I hate the slow refresh but dig the app overall.

Hmm... I don't have touch under Focus I only have Auto and Off.

After having my phone with CM6 for a while I noticed I was not getting voicemails. So I called my voicemail and had about 10 old voice mails. I then got in the habit of checking my voicemail a few times a day. Not good if I have an important message waiting.

I noticed I am getting messages like: ###-###-#### has sent you a Voice SMS message. Call to listen.

I figured these were spam or something and where would I call to listen to an SMS voice message?

I finally figured out that these mean I have a voicemail. While I guess this works. A simple voicemail icon that showed how many messages at the top status bar would be great.

Am I missing something here? A voicemail notification indicator seems like it should be a key part of any phone. Is there a setting in CM6 that I need to switch?

I am investigating Google voice now. I think I can have that be a universal voicemail box but I am not sure how to set it up and get it working yet.

Find and install the sprint vvm and it should clear up your problems.

Is there a reason voice-mail notification functionality was taken out? Maybe it drains the battery or there is a better option?

What is everyone that uses this ROM doing for VM notifications. Reinstalling Sprint VM? Google voice? Maybe some other app?

Cyanogen doesn't include any proprietary closed source software so you'll just have to re-install the sprint voicemail apk.

How do I change the phone top panel wall paper. Currently I show the standard cyanogen android robot wallpaper. I would like to switch to a simple black background or something not so busy.

Check the free Market app Colors by Tim Clark. It setup wallpapers of solid colors.

will i be able to use cyanogen 6 on my DInc on verizons most recent OTA november update (build 3.26.605.1) when the unrevoked team released their root?

google voice is the absolute best application for voicemail services. it is not hard to get your phone to do it, just sign up for a google voice number and then set it up based on the directions on the google voice page.

i have never looked back since installing this. not even worth dealing with sprint's vmapp

I have nothing better to do except my group project for class. I guess i'll grab it and flash.

Do i setup this the same as all other roms? Why is it so small? Is it because it's just an update or something?
