[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

question: I flash the HDMwIn just about 10mins ago for the first time. I first wiped the cache and dalvik then I flashed the HDMwIn. I just opened my brand new 6ft mini hdmi to regular hdmi cable pluged everything in and........nothing:(. Either I have a bad plug that I just got or i installed something wrong. Any thoughts?????

Im on build #14 if that helps.

I found what works for me. I rebooted the phone and every time it connected. I would let it sleep so I would have to reconnect. So I could test. As before it didn't connect but after reboot it was fine. Hope you get it working:)

Lol..can't stop laughing. STOP ALREADY...puHahahahahaha!...ooooo...STOP.
...ughh...ok..I'm ok. Serious, it was so funny coming from the big Guy. He's cool though..;)

Edit: sorry this in reference to Mr. Smith.

I have a problem where the majority of the time when pressing power to turn on the screen, the screen is blank until I touch it with my finger. Not the biggest deal, but it gets obnoxious if you have a pattern lockscreen. Anyone else have this?

Thanks aznmode for that input. I thought this was turning into some comedy lounge with someone asking me if I fired up the app...REALLY!!!

Welcome to troubleshooting 101. You have to ask the stupid questions before moving on to the good questions. For all I knew, you just plugged in the cable and expected it to work.

ok thanks. That's kind of annoying but I guess I'll deal with it. How often does this need to be done? I'm assuming I shouldn't wipe data at all so that the updates stick?

You should definitely wipe data. Your PRL and Profile are stored in a separate space.

Just be sure to make a Nandroid backup of your current ROM before flashing so you can easily get back to where you were.

Having some RC2 issues I was hoping you all might be able to help me with..

For some reason my home button isn't working. Both the long press and the regular press don't respond by going to my home screen or showing my recently used apps. I use launcher pro and have both the home key action and home key default screen set properly under Behavior Settings. Within the CM settings I have the Long-press home settings right under Input Settings.
The weirdest part is that I still get haptic feedback vibrations when I touch it so I know it's not the sensor.

Also, I no longer have a lockscreen. When I hit the power button to get out of sleep it just goes straight to wherever I left off. I don't know the settings here well and may have tweaked something by accident. I spent a few minutes playing and didn't see anything that looked wrong.

I also use Launcher Pro and I have no problems. Did you do a Cache / Dalvik Cache wipe after flash? That would be my first attack. Also, if coming from a non CM7 ROM, you should do a data wipe as well.

At home wifi seems to work fine, but when trying to run wifi tether app or the built in one it's a no go. Wifi fails to initialize or something.

4g runs fine as well.

The default hotspot fired up for me just fine. I don't have anything with which I can connect to see if it's actually working though.

If I used ROM Manager, is this something it would do on its own?

Only if you select the options. You're prompted after the ROM download completes and before the installation starts with the options to "Wipe Data / Cache" and "Backup Current ROM".
