[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

I restored a backup I had with the beta and looked to see if the kernel was different.
They are but it looks minimal.

Not sure what was changed

So will I be able to install the beta back but just uninstall the HDMwIn app and replace it with the newly released market version?

You can give it a shot. I notice the app had an update which said it fixed some bugs and on shinzul's xda post he said he took out the automatic kernel installer. So give it a shot and lets see what happens. Just make sure you have a current backup.

Lets us know what the out come is :)

OK...give me 10mins and I will let you know.

I tried Google Voice for voice mail, and didn't have much luck. Someone would call me, then they would have to enter my phone number again after a recording told them to do so, then they would go to my voicemail. I finally bit the bullet and *38 back to Sprint Visual Voicemail.

Shinzul posted he had the wrong kernel. It was an older version. Its been corrected on his thread at XDA.

Going to try it to see if it has improved or not

Thanks New2Android...I will update the kernel, but it worked the other way aswell, thanks for helping.

I downloaded the HDMwIn from the market yesterday It's really smooth. No sound but no biggie since I still have sound coming from the phone. I tried Modern Combat 2 and it ran great without any tearing. The kernel installed fine and I did not get any error 6. Kernel is (2.6.37.3 poonkang+agrabden@dogbert #76) and I find it's just as good as the stock kernel in nightly 19.

That must have been the old kernel im guessing. I have Kernel (2.6.37.3 poonkang+agrabden@dogbert #80)

Anyone using the SavagedZen 1.2 CFS HAVs kernel? I've been off the charger since 8am yesterday and still have 43% left. I have the 3500 battery but never have experienced this longevity on any Rom or kernel before.

igotsanevo4g, is this the one your talking about:

SavagedZen-0.2.0-CFS-HAVS-WiMAX-GB-signed.zip
MD5: 70e2b12a2a965d51ba1e44718b023df9

I'm using the latest SZ - cfs kernel. I must say that battery life has improved markedly when used in combination with CM7 Nightly 19. So far, I'm very impressed.

Are the savage zen kernels much better than the stock cm7 kernels? I haven't used any custom ones since using CM7

Yep.
As for SBC concerns, I switch kernels often and have 2 battery's so use at your own risk really. Nothing bad has happened to me tho.

Other kernel makers will upgrade withe HDMI drivers soon, and no SBC versions of savages will be out soon too.
