Official Droid X Froyo update thread

Whenever I try to update through settings then about phone it says"check for update is not available try again later" (it's been over 5 hours its bee n saying that and I've tried pulling thr battery)

That's what mine was doing. I did a factory reset and it downloaded fine.

I know I posted this early, but I am a bit new to the wonderful Android world. How long until an update.zip file will be available for this update? I am running the leaked version of 2.2 and would rather update this way instead of flashing back down to 2.1 and then upgrading. Any thoughts?

Anyone having problems with haptic feedback?

One of the reasons I like Droid X was because of the nice heavy haptic feedback that helped me move from blackberry. Anyone notice that the haptic feedback has been lessened (doesn't vibrate as much) after Froyo update?

Text msg not recognizing Am Pm

I noticed that the text msgs are sorted by the value of the time and not weather it is AM or PM... even when i switch to military time (24-Hour Format)... Anyone find a fix for this?

Just a quick update. Still having the same problems with customers and the update. Best thing going for the screen freezing and having to pull the battery several times is to do a hard factory reset... i know i know that sucks to loose all your stuff. But make sure you have lookout first, and try the reset. It has worked for some phones out there.

Has anyone actually Factory Reset their phones after installing Froyo? And what has your experience been like?

I have done about 34 factory resets today...and all of them but 2 or 3 have fixed the problem.

Lost my slide lock screen. Deleting Pro Launcher and my Corp Acct didnt fix it, multiple battery pulls no good. Ended up hard resetting and then adding everything back in. Working now but I did NOT want to have to hard reset.

Yea, I did it, but I forgot to restart the phone after haha.

Also, yea, I guess I don't need the verizon backup assistant. Thought I needed it to sync the facebook contacts with my phone contacts, but I was wrong.

There is no issue like this when using Handcent SMS. At least for me there isn't.

Delete the widget and reinstall it. Fixed it for me.

I got the clock working... but how do you uninstal and reinstal the camcorder?

That would be the System Version. 2.2 is the Android version and Kernel version is 2.6.32.9-ga42712e

However, technically you are right

I upgraded over the air this morning and although everything seems to have settled down, there are still some strange things, but I'm going to let it settle in a little more before I try to fix anything. May not be broken, just trying to find it's way.

I don't want to have to do a factory reset, but I'm not opposed to it if it fixes anything left after it settles down.

Launcher Pro blowing up!!!

After downloading 2.2, everything was working beautifully for a couple hours. Now LP has been force-closing and my homescreen has been freezing. I did several battery pulls and restarts and it's still happening. Anyone else experiencing this???
