Official "I got my Infinity" Thread

Picked mine up yesterday at Best Buy, returned it today because there was a line of dead pixels. Is this common? Best Buy doesn't have them in the store so I'm debating about ordering from them again which will most likely take another week, or trying Amazon and getting it Monday. Can't return in person if the same problem pops up though. I've never ordered anything more than $50 from Amazon - pretty good with electronics returns?

I got the firmware update on mine though my wife's 700 hasn't. I even went into settings to force an update but its says none is available. I know hers doesn't have the same firmware as I compare both tablets settings side by side. Anyone have any ideas?

Update/Follow-up:
i know this is now in the wrong thread, though as an update, my wife's 700 finally got an automatic update this morning, she was on .22 and is now on .26. finally.

mine got it 7-28-12 while hers on 8-7-12, was just a long waiting game. had it stretched any longer, i would manually bumped it up.

goto settings > about tablet (very bottom) > then look for build version i believe.

it's a long string of numbers, look for the last two digits.

Hello All, New member here

Just Got mine in from Amazon. Came hot off the Vegas truck! Literally, like cook and egg on the thing. I'm going to wait for it to cool down a bit before I charge it. Good thing it's only 105 today instead of 115 degrees coming tomorrow.. Ouch....

Got mine on Friday, 2 days from Amazon. Used it on Sunday to preach my sermon from. Love it so far, need to get a case though.

After buying, trying and returning the Asus Transformer Prime first and then the Samsung Tab 2, I picked up the Infinity yesterday, the first day they were available from my local BB.

So far, I'm impressed with the smoothness of swiping across the home pages and the speed of things in general. I really like how light it is. I'm glad I didn't settle for either of the above mentioned tablets.

Ordered mine two days ago from BB and the order page still just says "processing" or something of that sort. Looks like I "may" get it by Tuesday. What takes so long to ship the thing?

I've never had a tablet before. I know a lot of folks who have iPads and love them. My wife has an iPad that her boss gave her for Christmas (along with a check) and she loves it. I just don't want the whole iOS "do as we tell you" thing. I'm really hoping for good things from the 700.

I ordered mine on newegg today -- it should be here by Wednesday because I signed up for the "preferred account" and it's a free rush order. It took me forever to research all of my tablet options. I was going to get the Nexus 7 but I played with my friends Tab and I liked the full size screen, so I researched full size Android tablets....THEN I compared it with the iPad(both 2 and 3) since I have a Macbook, but I read how all of the apps take up a ton of memory now because of the retina display and the iPad is more $$ for less memory.

Anyway, I'm super excited and want to sleep through the next four days so it gets here sooner.

I got fed up with BB online. I called and asked what was up with my order. I ordered on the 16th and today is the 20th. The online deal just kept saying the order was received. I used the automated phone check and it said the same thing. I called back and spoke to a rep who told me there is really no way to check on the status until such time as the warehouse ships.

I told her that was nuts and people are getting them from Amazon in 2 days. I asked if I should just cancel and get it somewhere else. The woman on the phone was great. She asked me to hold a minute and then checked store inventories. My local store got 14 in this morning. She canceled my online order (and sent a cancellation confirmation to my email) and I just got up from my desk, walked out to my car, drove across town, and purchased the thing. (It's great having flexibility at work )

The folks in the store were just putting the tablets up on the storage shelf - they did indeed just come in on the truck this morning.

I'm charging it now..........GAH! I don't want to wait!!!!!
