Official I got the OTA DL09 update discussion. See Post #2 for problems/solutions!

Just so everyone knows the one click root is not working for superuser rights, you have to do it the old way by typing it all in or copy paste. Hope this helps some people that are stuck.

Anybody have a link to doing it "the old way". Can't get mine to re-root either.

Got my update this morning. Now I have some weird symbol up top that looks like a e911 one but its not, havent figured it out yet.

Just finished with the official OTA update, and so far, except for a weird bug, everything seems to work fine... rooted and all :)
Did the install for two other colleagues and no problems with theirs either

i plugged my phone to the computer and it recognised everything fine (with all my files intact), but when i told Windows to disconnect the device, it said that there was an error in unplugging? Weird

But so far, everything is working well. Better, if i might say so :)

Now, it's just froyo that i want to wait for...

Got The update this morning. It did not go very smooth. Had a difficult time initiating it. I had to remove my battery a few times because it froze up. Gps does not lock on that quickly and now I can't even connect to wifi. It says unable to scan for networks. on the positive side, it does seem a bit faster

Oh no...Here we go again. I returned my first Fascinate due to the IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED error. I was never able to update it to DI01, and it was exchanged with the understanding there was a batch of Fascinates that were unable to update. When I got my current phone, DI01 installed flawlessly. I am now rooted, but have all bloatware re-enabled, and guess what? IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED has reared it's ugly head again, and I'm back where I was with my first phone pre-DI01.
I am having the same issue. does anyone know what to do?"

Hello,

Go to XDA Forums and under Fascinate there is an Odin file to get you back to DI01. Run ODIN with that file and then try updating. This removes root and puts you back to factory reset.

[ODIN] Full DI01 ODIN Package - xda-developers

THANKS for this!!!!!

Got the update this morning. Installed smoothly on my non-rooted Fascinate. So far, GPS lock times seem MUCH improved, which makes me very happy indeed. The button backlights matching the screen timeout is really nice as well.

Even though they didn't list it, I was really hoping they would've fixed the reception issue with this MR and it appears they didn't. Mine still fluctuates all crazy, even in the -db screen. Its really irritating. With this phone I run into more bad coverage spots then I did before. Lol

my phone does this too. the signal strength fluctuates ALL the time. I can sit the phone on my desk and it will swing 5 to 10 db all the time. you're the first person I've ever heard voice the same problem my phone has. I bought mine on the first day it was available. how long have you had yours?

Post #2 edited with the flashing back to DL01 recommendation.

I would also like to add that I'm giving personal kudos to EVERYONE in this thread who have been working diligently to work around issues people have been having. The very best of the AC forums is right here in this thread. Keep it up everyone!

Question: I have the manual update. When I went to check for the update OTA it said no available update. I am assuming it's because it is seeing my build number?

Correct. Both the one Adrynalyne posted and the OTA are the exact same build, so you won't receive an update notification.

Hey, I happened to be watching a movie on the Fascinate after update when I got a phone call. Not thinking, I left the headphones in, and everything worked like a charm. The mic didn't seem sensitive to work without holding the phone close to my mouthhole, but I could hear the person through my headphones and they could hear me.

Wasn't that supposed to be in 2.2?

Also, no new flash :(

Not sure about the headphones thing, but Flash is Froyo only, we won't be seeing anything on that until Froyo is pushed out. :(

As of 2:21pm today the OTA upgrade to 09 is working for me. Just waiting for the download to finish.

Yeah the first 2 do not work for sure. Everyone should skip to #3.

If you have a Mac my sticky method in the ROMs/Hacks forum works too.

Just out of curiosity as I was going to finally delve into rootville after this update (originally planned to wait for update who shall not be named ...) - was going to wait for the right update, but I gotta clean the pipes some time.

So, is it to be expected that less manual methods will be developed in the near future? Not afraid of the command line I'd just prefer a method less prone to mistakes.

Someone just suffested a fix for one click method ill work on it when I get to work and update
