For those of you who have been holding back from manually installing Froyo aka Android 2.2 on your Motorola Droid, you may want to rethink your game plan. For those of you that have, go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back even if you’ve been experiencing issues.
And I know many of you have.
The latest concerning Verizon’s rollout of Android 2.2 to the Motorola Droid has it getting delayed indefinitely because of problems with Adobe’s Flash. Apparently there is a glitch that they are trying to fix until they release the update to the masses.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is that you can install Froyo on your phone right now and not have to worry about the OTA rollout. So, if you are completely over waiting for Verizon to get their act together, you can go ahead and do that.
Otherwise, you could be in for some waiting. Or, you could just go ahead and pick up the Motorola Droid 2 which has essentially been confirmed for release next Thursday on August 12th. That of course is subject to change especially considering this turn of events, but it’s very likely.
If you want to install Froyo manually, you can head here. If you want to get Flash, you can head right here.
