Right there with you - P6P to P8P. And wish I knew how much I'd hate the curved edge before I got it. As trivial as it sounds, that is one of the things I look forward to the most about the 8.

Praying now that the unlock advice is the right one for me to give, as I will also be doing it the first time.

I ordered the P8P and will trade in my P7P. I also have an S23U. I'm on Verizon and have purchased unlocked phones for years, both Samsung and Google, without any issues.

Next week can't come fast enough for me. Been waiting a year for this phone. Didn't want the 7 Pro after I got it for my husband it didn't feel like an upgrade from my 6 Pro. But I just knew the 8 would be a step up and I am so excited for it. Was stalking the preorder page until I could order it. Was going for Currys but they didn't have Bay or 256GB and used a credit card instead to get it from Google directly. Hubby is happy to get a new watch as well. I use an Apple watch but he has been using the original Pixel watch he got with his 7 Pro preorder last year.

Well, from research I've done in the past and recently. Maybe that's totally wrong, though? Maybe I should get the unlocked as it's available when I tried to preorder it. I've never had an unlocked phone before and not sure if it's better or worse than a Verizon specific phone (I've been with Verizon forever and there is no better network around here) and not sure about the pros and cons.

If memory serves (I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong), in the past you would need to have ordered the Verizon version of the non-Pro model in order to have had mm-wave 5g, as the normal unlocked model didn't include it. For the Pro version it was a moot point as it was included on all.

If that memory is correct and the same holds true, there isn't any functional difference if you're buying the Pro model.

Have they announced whether Best Buy would have a promo like the 7 where the trade-in value was the previous pro model was roughly 60% of the new phones value along with gift cards? Was too good of a deal to pass up and would like to utilize it again

Best Buy is offering $550 for a good, clean P7P. I would have gone for this, except I want the Pixel Watch 2!

Doubt I will get a shipped notice, but automagically have a ready for pickup notice on Thursday since I did pickup at the Chelsea NYC Google Store. I'm wishing they'd open an hour early so I can pick it up on the way to work rather than on the way home!

I'm a little confused by this, as Best Buy is offering $550 for a good P7P and also giving a free Pixel Watch 2. You just don't have option on colors for the watch - black only.
