Oh boy, release pushed to December :/

That confirmation on the 28th is for the GSM variant as mentioned but it's also the date that certain vendor is getting the device. Not the date it is being released.

I don't see any other US carriers doing better. Now before you say Verizon exclusive...that was never officially confirmed.

True, it's not confirmed. If it wasn't an exclusive to Verizon then what happened to the GS2? A LTE version of the GS2 could have launched already.

I'm not sure what you mean by other carriers.

Other US carriers haven't launched any quicker on this device. I thought my response was evident. Anyway, ask Verizon what happened to the GS2? It wasn't long ago Verizon was in discussion about not carrying the nexus...so no its not a replacement for the GS2.

Re: Oh boy :/

Whose fault was it when it took 6 months for GSII to get to the US. Those are all non-Verizon carriers. I don't see any difference between the two. Verizon hasn't officially announced the phone (maybe there are still issues with the LTE radio, maybe they just don't want to cannibilize sales of the Razr and Rezound).
Verizon has officially announced the Galaxy Nexus and said it will be released by the end of the year. There was a press release weeks ago. That may well be a lie, but if it is, the device will indeed be "late". A leak a few days ago puts over 100,000 GN's in a warehouse somewhere; the admin of this site chimed in to say there are plenty more where that came from. That means the hardware's finalised and the production models have been mass-produced.

I understand how business works, but that doesn't make common business practices OK. Of course Verizon's going to do what's best for Verizon. And it's not even a sense of entitlement, given that our business helps pay the salaries of the overpaid decisionmakers who make these calls. Here's what it is: They said something is going to be available. They know there is a faction of users who very much want this device. The icing on the crap cake is that they know no competitors will drop the device before they do, which they feel gives them liberty to string us along for awhile, while they try to feed us their bloatware-equipped DROID and Sick Beats by Doctor Rapstar (or whatever the Rezound gimmick is) phones.

Seems to me things with Samsung are not going well for them? I mean no GS2 which ironically already has an LTE version on AT&T of all places! Talks of no nexus on top of it? Also still no Gingerbread for the Freaking Droid Charge! Both the revolution and thunderbolt have gingerbread and they are not flagship "Droid" phones lol

Let me just say that if a phone came out with something called "Sick Beats by Doctor Rapstar", I would definitely buy that over the Nexus.

Indeed. Note that the GS2 on ATT isn't a real one. They had to use snapdragon to overcome LTE issues.

Maybe there's a bug in ics? And vzw stores will need to manually flash each new nexi before it ships. And this isn't first time a phone need a flashing at a store before its released.

Everything seems to be going well for Samsung. They have overtaken Apple as the largest smart phone vendor.

It could be fixed with a OTA that will be there upon first turning the device on so that will not happen.

It's clear from Panda's posts that the phone is ready from Google and Samsung. It's in Verizon's hands.

Blackberry Storm.

*shudder*

But if Google and Samsung are fixing these *reported* bugs, then it technically isn't ready.

And don't get started on about how there is always bug fixing. I know this. I mean initial, ready to go software. If there really is some last-minute bug-squashing happening, then Google isn't really ready.

Being a business-minded person, this whole thing reeks of a kickback from Motorola to Verizon. As everyone has mentioned, Verizon stores are advertising the Razr excessively, but not much is being said about the Rezound. And now the Nexus can't even get a solid release date. It really looks like Motorola may have "purchased" some non-compete time with Verizon.

Regardless, buying a Razr/Rezound as a stop-gap before the Nexus really doesn't hurt Verizon at all. They make their coin on your plan, not the device. They don't care which phone you get, as long as it is on their network. If you have that much anger toward VZW for this fiasco, I'd recommend switching carriers. That is the only thing that would hurt VZW. As for me, I'll just keep waiting for the Nexus. I hate this as much as everyone else, but the Verizon network is just too good in my area to leave (I know they count on this when they play these games). I just wish we had a solid date to count down to. This open-ended release date fueled with speculation and disappointment is the most annoying part by far.

The "bugs" is a rumor from a source that hasn't been credible when it comes to GN news. The most credible source has said the phone is in Verizon's hands.

Not holding to Kellex's words but any date we hear from anyone outside of Verizon's own mouth is a rumor. Rumors tend to be wrong. Even BMX was hinting at a early November date but that was obviously pushed back.
