I got mine from sprint (wifi only) and had the same issue. I went through samsung's warranty and they swapped out the screen no charge. It feels very slightly heavier/sturdier since they sent it back, so I don't know if that's just my perception or if they replaced more than just the screen.
There is definitely a satin/slight orange peel you can see when the screen is off, so it was probably an issue with the old screens actually sticking together, which the new one doesn't do.
Dealing with samsung was very easy and didn't cost me a penny. Only about a week without my tab, but well worth not having the "newtons rings" or oil slick issue.
