Old lost Navigation App

I used the navigation app, that was "merged" to Maps with the satellite imaging to navigate in a boat coastal backwaters especially at night. With the old navigation app, while negotiating tricky shallows, it was made easy and safe with the more accurate navigation (lost app). When I drove 35 mph the arrow move seamlessly and was very accurate. Now when I use Maps (the new app) I almost get killed hitting a jetty because that app only refreshes every few seconds or so It would show me in the channel and I was several hundred feet out of the channel. No matter what your reply, the previous version was more accurate to show me where I am and timely. Of course both would get me from point A to Point B picking the nearest roads but the earlier version showed me where I was (exactly) when I did not ask for directions. In fact, right now the Maps App indicates I am about 350 feet from where I am at with my phone. I would be willing to pay for that old app! Please bring back the real-time accuracy or sell the old product in the play store.

Welcome to Android Central! Basic question, but you have GPS on, right?

Yes the GPS was on (My IT guy asked the same question)... My IT guy just restored everything on my phone....got it back. I am in business again. I turned it on, gps found signal and it shows me sitting in my office (at my desk in my office). Walk to the next office and it follows seamlessly. Listen, I understand you guys did not design the to navigate in a boat, but that is how good it is. Even down in the Everglades it is accurate (and you don't want to get lost there). Hiking in the woods it is perfect. It is impossible to get lost with the satellite imagery and now my V arrow stays in the middle of the display as I move even when drilled down to the closest setting. On Maps the arrow/circle just would just go off the page and you have to manually refresh to get it back to center then you have to drill back down to see the imagery. By the time you do that your already off the page again and refreshing in Maps. I am certain it is the outdoor enthusiasts who have misted this the most. This could be a crazy good app to market towards those types of people. Thanks, Ron
