OMG my camera lens is shattered!

Did you the leave setting on where the second screen stays on all the time? If so, I think it's a possibility that the flashlight shortcut could've been tripped. I imagine that the light could heat up the glass if it stayed on long enough. Just a thought. That sucks though!

My second screen always seems to default to the Date \ Time one when the main screen is off and I have to scroll to get to the one where the flashlight is an option. Does everybody elses second screen behave the same way? I'd be concerned about the flashlight turning on accidentally in my pocket and would prefer the default screen to stay on the date \ time one.

I don't think its about being cheap....it is very thin and a poor design
With the lens protruding from the back of the phone we would need to be very careful when placing the V20 down.

I rarely ever lay my phone face down. Now I'm very careful when placing my phone down because of the lens for fear of it cracking UGH

I think it's using cheap material. I have a phone pretty much useless without the camera. I will get it fixed when the part becomes available but I still think it's a manufacturer flaw and they should be responsible.

It's most likely a bad batch of phones that somehow passed through QA. All the other phones are perfectly fine, even some that went through drop tests (to prove the shock resistant military grade) from 6 feet high and camera lense cover was still intact.

The fact of the matter is we all take a huge risk when we buy a phone within weeks of the release date. If we all keep this up, we're bound to run into some QA issues at some point. If you want to avoid any QA issues, it's best to wait for at least a month before making a phone purchase. For example, if anyone had waited for at least a month they could have easily avoided the N7 battery fiasco or even some of the G5 issues.

I just had a brainurism (I get those now and again). I could just get a DBrand skin for the camera lenses. As long as it doesn't interfere it's be good...or am I being paranoidz?

I always set my phone on a napkin when I am at work or at home when I am not using it. My phones are always naked and I have not cracked any lens or screens ever on my smartphones.

There is a default setting for when the main screen is off, but the only options are either date/time or your signature.

So are they going to charge you a deductible or for the repair? Other than the crack how do you like the phone? Struggling on the V20 or Pixel XL.

Curious to learn how you made out here. :) Hopefully they covered you. :)

Have dropped my phone 2 more times so far this week...one was right on lens and no shatter...I do have a UAG case on though

If it breaks (hopefully not), I will probably repair it myself once aftermarket parts become available. Seems like a very easy fix. I hope manufacturers will catch up on this and develop a tempered glass protector for the rear camera.

If your camera glass has broken, have you contacted any of the firms on ebay or amazon that make all those replacement kits for other phones? For an ETA? There are several big companies that do this. V20 has been out for awhile now, so these should be available any day now.

And just look on ebay at camera glass replacement for other phones - you can see the number sold. Some are at several hundred sold just through that site. First one for G5 says 338 sold by one person.

Mine cracked this evening too. Or rather shattered :( I think I'm SOL until a replacement becomes available. Was planning on returning my N7 this week, but it might get my sim cars again and I'll set the V20 aside until a replacement becomes available. So incredibly disappointed

My S7 has a crack in the lens, but not so bad where it isn't seen in pictures. Happened in the first 2 weeks I had it, not idea how. I have a case on it too.

Was it dropped

Oh yeah, hardcore. Was walking and a bush caught my headphones and ripped it out of my pocket and it slammed right onto the sidewalk and slid on the camera lens.
Well at least it wasn't your screen which would be more costly

Yes, I have checked but they don't even have a replacement available yet. I am not filing a insurance claim and anyone else that runs into this problem should not either. They want to charge you $175 deductible for a $50 part so that is totally out for me. I took mine to a "YouBrokeIFix place and they guarentee they can fix it so as soon a s they get the part they will call me.
The guy at the repair store said a lot of times they can use parts from other phones but with this being the first of a new camera design there aren't any they can use so we have to wait until they can make them available. It's just a shame they are blaming the consumer for this and not the fact that there is a design flaw. I'd rather have my Note 7 back. I will continue to keep calling LG on this whether it goes anywhere or not. All I wanted was to return (buyer's remorse) but with the lens cover like it was they wouldn't let me. I should have stayed with Samsung....
