On second Max......battery is much better

Ok, thanks to some posts in another forum, I figured out how to access the settings menu on the Maxx where you can disable automatic sync for Google apps. No idea why Motorola made this nearly inaccessible, whereas it was easily reached on the Droid Incredible.

First, go to Settings->Data Manager, and uncheck Background data. Hit Ok when it asks you if you're sure.

Then open Google Play. It will tell you you need to enable Background data. Hit "Enable," and you will be taken to the hidden settings menu. Make sure Background data is checked, and then you have the option of checking or unchecking Automatic sync--you can also select which features are automatically synced or not.

Remember, if you choose not to automatically sync, you can still manually do so using the Toggle: Power Control stock widget or other 3rd party widgets like Power Controls.

I'm thinking about switching from the iPhone 5 to the droid razr max for the bigger screen and the battery. Any thoughts?

Honestly, if you really want to switch to a RAZR, go with the new HD versions. HD screens, same battery size in the Max HD version but a more energy efficient processor means battery will last even longer than the maxx's we have. If you want their battery testimonials, head on over there and ask.

Actually I made a mistake- I left the HD off the name. That's the one I'm thinking about getting. Bigger screen and battery is all I'm thinking about.

When you think about it, it's not really a bigger screen. Sure, it's 4.7", but the screen has on screen keys that take up some of the screen. So the usable part of the screen, that would actually have stuff on it, that is not the home, back, settings, key is about the same.

I think its slightly bigger but you're right not by much. Its really about the bezel being gone/less diameter and I think making it slightly wider side to side.

Actually if you hold it up to an iPhone 5 you will see its noticeably taller and wider.

You could just go to settings, and then accounts and sync. To do the same thing. Select your gmail account and you can select what you want to sync or not.
