On the fence

I went ahead and bit the bullet at the no-contract price. I also future -dated activation, which means I could cancel the 3g service even before it starts :) I won't, since I want the ability to use it anywhere. I have to say I'm really enjoying my Tab, but was disappointed after reading a comment from some Samsung bigwig who says the Tab won't see Honeycomb.

I got mine today and haven't been able to put it down since I opened it. I absolutely love it. I definitely need to get a case though.

Purely anecdotal, of course, but I was surprised by how many people were lusting for the Tab when I bought mine. Even the sales people were making comments about how much they'd love to have one or be given one for Christmas. I don't think they're flying off the shelves, but the interest may just be there. One girl's boyfriend asked her about the iPad, and she said "No, I want THAT!"

I got one for my mom as well. One of my sisters wanted to get her an iPad, but I thought:

No way we're buying an iPad model that's about to be outdated. And no way I'm putting my mom through iTunes. Plus, the Tab is perfect for a purse.

I'm going to activate hers before Christmas, set her up with Google Voice for texting from the Tab, and buy her some of my favorite apps so she's ready to rock when she gets it.

This is my first post. I got my Tab about three weeks ago and have been loving it. I think it's the perfect size to carry around. Anything bigger I might as well carry my laptop.

I looked at the iPad but never seriously considered buying one. This is my first Android device having been a Blackberry user. I still have my BB phone for now. I had thought about waiting for the Playbook to arrive but if I have to connect through my BB phone when out of wi-fi range then it's going to suck.
