Will be out of the country in a few days so going to use my N6 with Fi.
My point:
Thought my affection for the N6 was biased due to nostalgia.
Truth is, this is a very nice phone even now.
While some disastrous 7.1.1 bugs need fixes.... nevertheless;
Not giving up much performance wise vs "much" newer hardware.
Just saying:
It is, still, a very nice phone.

Ah okay so it is a specific issue to the Nexus 6 with 7.1.1 -- So far I haven't run into this bug on my Pixel XL (I use speakerphone for 95% of my calls). I wonder if they missed the noise reduction within the software on the Nexus 6 and it isn't muting the peoples voice?

Seems to be only the Nexus 6. I miss my speakerphone already.

The Nexus 6 is still a great device! I have a heavy respect for the Nexus line. Enjoy!

Have returned from my adventure.
Some thoughts/observations:

-Strong signal throughout travels in Brazil on Google Fi.
-Consistent signal domestically equal to my Pixel XL.
-Photos taken were more than adequate, look great on monitor.
-Nexus 6 is still a great phone.

Pure Android makes updating every hardware "improvement" cycle unnecessary.
Battery life on the Nexus 6 can't compare to the Pixel /XL.
Will switch back to my Pixel XL.

Google would do well to consumers by:
upgrading their hardware only when innovation makes it necessary.
That would mandate a replaceable battery be utilized.
ps- Had a great time.
