One in five Pixel 3 buyers came from iPhone, but over half are former Samsung owners

if I understand that the finalized software versions before they roll it out to the masses, but I will never ever understand why it takes Samson and particular so so long to roll out a software update. especially considering that the Galaxy s8 on T-Mobile and AT&t now or if it's the same phone Galaxy s8 phones got it a month before the Verizon version of the phones did.

After Samsung tweaks it then it's handed to the carrier's to test and tweak.

This is very interesting and believable in my own sample size of people I know and have met in real life.

One of my friends who was a Samsung guy switched to Pixel when it came out. He is also a camera guy (like he brings his DSLR) and he is generally taking photos.

I have met a couple of people who switched from iPhone to Pixel, they never tried a Samsung phone or any other. Also people do seem to hear about the Pixel. Some influences I follow have done the same.

I know some of the Samsung guys got sick of waiting for software updates, I think if Samsung was good in this department they would never switched. Pixel phones are a great experience been happy since I had my Nexus device.

absolute correct everyone. If Samsung was better with sw updates then maybe some of us wouldn't have switched but regardless, I still love stock Google regardless. That's who I am.

I agree , the reason why I have my phones from different manufacturer , like them for different reasons .

Good Choice, will you get the pixel 4?
Well, thank you very much. No, pixel 3 XL for me more than yes a job done and makes me happy! Next one I get will be a picsable 5G but that's about it. And that's only when Verizon 5G network is more than ready to take on the bandwidth from everyone hahaha. honestly, all I need is that Google fast quick software updates and useful realistic features not gimmicks!

I hear you ..

I don't know why, but I thought the number from Sammy would be lower and the number would be more from like LG and Moto.

LG and Moto combined have less market share in the US than Samsung does. Moto doesn't compete at all in the flagship space anymore and LG is focused in an entirely different direction than Apple & Google. Moto is only in the top 4 OEM's in the US because ZTE became much less available in 2018.

Together Apple and Samsung make up 2/3 of the US market, and that's generally been growing.

After having many Samsung Galaxy S series phones and Notes, I did have the first Pixel, and I loved it. However, shallow as it may be, aesthetics do matter to me, and I wasn't crazy about how it looked, and I did miss some things that Samsung had. I haven't gotten the Pixels since, although I did have the iPhone XS Max for about six months. From that experience, I learned that I'm an Android person, although I can appreciate some of the features from that phone. My husband and my dad both have the Pixel 2, and they're both very happy with it. My husband has said many times how much better the fingerprint sensor is on the Pixel than his previous Samsung phones. He refused to use it on his Samsungs.

I have to say, I'm genuinely surprised LG has held up as it has in the states. Wide distribution helps them, I think. 1+ is the Android cool kid right now, IMO, and I can see them just taking LG's fan base. Moto's too. That kinda "hipsters of tech" crowd. 1+ has got just enough bells and whistles for that crowd.

But it's a bigger jump from Iphone to pixel than from a Samsung to a pixel. Samsung and pixel are both androids.
