Verizon might not tell you which phones to push, but it is my understanding that certain phones have a higher commission than others. Obviously a number of salesmen value the dollar, and will prioritize accordingly

This is 100% INCORRECT. We don't get paid on phones AT ALL. We get paid on gross adds ( New customer) and Upgrades, We get a percent of the 2yr monthly price that goes into a sales bucket along with accessories. Whoever told you this works for a authorized dealer.

Why should they advertise? HTC and the other carriers already have been. As a Verizon customer needing a new phone, walking into the store and seeing the One, I would already know what the phone was and be pleasantly surprised. From Verizon's point of view it's just savings in the advertising budget that can be spent somewhere else.

The advertisements don't matter, it's the case of Verizon being lazy, not even informing anyone about the phone. I even signed up for the newsletter and also, nothing.

There won't be a line, trust me. The advertisement was little to none. Our store got over 20 phones.

I just spoke with a Verizon rep who said the phone is available today online, but in-store at a different date. This is not correct, right? Hoping I will have no issue picking it up in the store in an hour.

Talk to an online rep before you buy the phone! She just offered me $50 off! I got the phone for $150 + $30 upgrade fee with in store pickup!

It is a valid code. Unfortunately, I already placed my order. Called Customer Service and they stated that I'd have to try to apply the code in stores or cancel at the store. UGH!

Well I went through a mock order to upgrade my device off-contract. The code was accepted in the promo box, but no discount was applied at checkout.
I had previously (2 hrs ago) went through a device upgrade as I am eligible for a 25% hardware discount through my employer. No discount was given there either...
