This just started happening withing the last week. When i hit the mic on gboard to use speech to text, upon speaking, it completely misses the first 1-4 words consistently. Its almost like even though it says "speak" and "listening" its not yet turned on the mic or something hasnt started up. I have rebooted and this hasnt fixed the issue. Its insanely annoying and happens every single time i use it. This has never happened before. Just started about a week ago.

Have you tried going into phone settings then apps Gboard clear data, cache and force stop in storage.

I have done that and then some. I've actually completely disabled keyboard and The voice keyboard and uninstalled updates and then reinstalled them. Still doesnt work.

Try different keyboard see what happens?

So with swift keyboard it seems to be perfectly fine but it's also activated a bit differently so I don't know if that's going into account but basically you have to hold the, button in for like 2 seconds to activate the voice and then it pops open the actual Voice keyboard rather than it being integrated if that makes any sense but that does work flawlessly

Ok maybe stick with that for a bit until next update to Gboard

So I just got a OnePlus 7 non pro version and it's still doing it on this phone, it has to be a conflict with their software. I briefly usedcthe Motorola G7 and I did not have the issue.

I'm having the same exact issue. It been going on for weeks. Thought it was the beta Gboard. Went back to stable. Did all the cache clears etc. No good. My friend who also has a OnePlus 7 pro is experiencing it as well.

Bump. Having this same issue with the Voice Typing on Google Keyboard! Anyone know of a fix? This is extremely annoying! It pretty much makes voice typing unusable and has been going on for weeks. Definitely need this fixed or I might have to consider switching phones.

I got zero help after hours of trying.. sold it and got a note 10. Best of luck

Bump. With the latest update now Google Voice Typing (from Google Keyboard) doesn't work at all. Anyone else having this issue on their OnePlus 7 Pro? I use this all the time. Love this phone but this is a major issue! :(

I don't use the voice dictation that often, but I just tried it and mine works fine.

Of course I enunciate properly when I speak. :)

One of the first things I noticed when I picked up my 1P7P last month.

Sucks because it really came in handy when driving or also in my particular case, out riding my bike.
