Hello G3 users!

I'm interested in how this phone lasts after long use.

Has anyone had it for a year or more? Are you still impressed with it? Have you noticed a lot of problems?

I've owned mine since the early days of its availability in the UK....June or July 2014? It was and remains a wonderful device. In fact, it runs better now than formerly....no lag. I've had no serious problems with it. In the UK currently the 16gb version is available new for £200-225, a very low price for such a high-spec device.

Got mine almost 1 year ago; I'm not rooted, running stock. Am very happy & not looking for any replacement (am on VZ)

I miss mine occasionally. I got rid of mine in July after 9 months and got the g4 (big mistake) sold that after 6 weeks and got the nexus 6 from Amazon. love the nexus but still look for deals on a Verizon g3 a couple times a week

Will any current Nexus phone work on VZ?

Had mine since Jan. It's been unused for the last month as I have moved to a nexus 6 mainly because of battery. Nexus gets nearly twice the screen on time.
Lg swapped the phone and battery once during this time but still no difference.

I like the look and feel of the g3 and the camera but waiting for an update as its still on 5.0 then I will try it again. Lg blamed Google (software) when I reported the battery issue!

My LG G3 is about a year old. Sprung for the Quick Circle wireless charging case. Worked for a while until AT&T issued a software upgrade that killed it for several months until a new upgrade finally fixed the issue. But I learned that the hassle and unreliability of wireless charging was not worth the effort. Debris got inside the flap of the Quick Circle case and there is now an arc of ever so light scratches where the edge of the circle was. I now use a silicone case, a necessity since the naked phone is as slippery as an eel. I noticed recently when using Google Maps that the Map will think I'm on a parallel road once in a while and redirect me as I approach an intersection. Don't know yet if it's the phone's GPS or the app or a memory problem, but so far it only happens when I program a second destination into Maps. I now close the Maps app before programming a new destination. I have missed a few calls in a weak signal area (home and in a store), and have been looking for a phone with a reputation for better reception, as I have seen many posts bemoaning LG's poor reception.. But I am waiting for AT&T to come out with WiFi Calling for Android, and have read that it will only be available on phones sold through AT&T. Other than those negatives, I have been happy with the phone. I will miss the double tap (knock on) to turn the display on and off. Battery easily lasts a full day given my light usage. Missing a call on occasion wouldn't be a problem if the caller (usually the wife) would leave a voicemail.

I have owned the G3 for over a year and still find no reason to upgrade. My wife has the G4, and it's performance is slightly quicker than my G3, but only slightly. I have rooted, debloated, love the fact that I can do TWRP backups (saved my **** on several occasions), experimented with Custom ROM's, etc., and does everything I need a smartphone to do. Nova Launcher, Titanium Backup, ROOT only apps that rock, so I'm very pleased with what LG has accomplished! I'll be looking at the G5 (or whatever the next flagship will be called), and I'll never own a Samdung even if it was free!

I just bought this phone yesterday while some of you had already used it for over a year. How is the battery life like for you guys?

I just stepped away from the G3 and battery life was middle of the road I guess.

At first, I got outstanding battery life, then after several months, it changed fairly rapidly to middling, for reasons that I still don't understand. But batteries and phones is funny things.

I just installed LG suite and there was a prompt for a software update. After i installed it my phone went into an endless loop of rebooting. Awesome man. Now I had to force factory reset and then reinstall everything again. Sighhhhhhhhh

Battery life on my G3 has been consistent. Phone calls don't seem to make much of a dent in the power. At home, using WiFi, not much power drained. Away from home, it seems more power is consumed And of course, the main power culprits are the screen-on time, GPS and distance to the towers. I've read that the Google Now app is a battery hog as it frequently uses GPS to determine location. I don't use it.
I frequently close all open apps, easy to do on the G3. Have to say that battery life today is no worse than when the phone was new.

Yes, I've found that Google Now uses a lot of battery....a pity, because I like it. I leave it switched off on all my devices, except for wifi-only devices at home. It's not the weather and travel stuff and so on that grab me, but the very useful suggestions of articles and news items based on my interests.

After the factory reset, then the software updates suddenly appeared. exactly explained by this forumer here:

Hi, Did you manage to resolve your boot loop issue? I have just had this problem, within the last hour! In short, what worked for me was to NOT USE A PC, remove the battery and wait for about a minute, insert the battery back into the phone, press the power button AND the volume down button together, as soon as you see the LG logo appear quickly release the power button and re press it immediately, DONT LET GO OF THE VOLUME KEY! As soon as you see the factory reset screen appear you can release both buttons. Now use the volume key only to select the option to reset and press the power button to say yes, and the phone will be wiped and the original version of Android that was on your phone when purchased will be put back on. Now follow all on screen prompts to get the phone set back up, as you done at new. Setting wireless up is usually one of the first options to set up after your location. You will soon notice that LG will send you the OTA Android software update, you can pretty much ignore everything else and just concentrate on the Android update. Now, although this may seem very odd, you may well notice that as soon as you think it's completed, you will get the LG software update available again! This is actually normal, weird but normal. So just activate this update again as before, this will likely happen for a third time, after which you will be sorted! Without trying to get too technical, this is due to a variety of previous bugs within the software, the only way to get through it is for the whole update process to be split into three downloads, the first time acts as a kind of patch, a platform to enable the second part and subsequently the the second patching ready for the third.
It takes a while, but my phone is now sorted and running fine, with no more looping. The update has now given me Android Version 5.0, Kernel Version 3.4.0, Software Version V20g-SEA-XX.
Good luck, I hope this helps anyone else that's having issues.

one by one it came and then i updated the software consecutively, and so far it's working fine now. touch wood. hopefully the next marshmallow update won't have this crazy bug again. :'(

I've had mine for more than a year and I regret it. It's got some nice features but the battery life is terrible. I wish I went with the M8.

I have had mine for almost a year and a half. Battery life has been good, and with Nova Prime the phone is silky smooth. In no rush to upgrade.
