I just moved from a Samsung Moment which has a million roms plus numerous methods for combining roms toghether, to the LG Optimus S. The Optimus, now that it is running VC and rooted with JIT and Hardware acceleration, is clearly a stronger phone, but there are (and I may be getting this wrong) only 3 customs ROMS for it.

SDX Developers had a rom kitchen for the Moment that allowed you to check boxes for the elements you wanted in your ROM then "cook" it and download it when you reached the bottom of the page.

My question/ challange is does anybody have the skills to do the some type of thing for the Optimus S?

Not trying to push anybodys buttons in a bad way, just trying to advance the dev on this phone, and I honestly can't do this kind of thing myself.

I would like something like that here. It would be nice if we had a few more choices when it comes to ROMs and other options on this phone. It’s still a fairly new phone and when we got rolling with Lego ROM it seemed like the VC Update set everyone back and took our wind a little bit.

dsixda from XDA has a HTC rom kitchen, but it works with our phone just fine, in linux/ubuntu of course :)

are you talking about something like this?

http://uot.dakra.lt/

you can cook themes (to a certain extent) with that, and put that on top of some other rom, with a theme possibly, you should be able to get whatever you want. the way i see it, any rom's main purose is to get rid of all the bloat and improve speed/functionality of the phone. so put that alongside a theme or minor tweaks provided with this UOT kitchen, and you can get just about whatever you want..

Nope, like this....

[KITCHEN][FEB. 25 '11] HTC Android Kitchen, v0.132 [Linux / Mac / Windows] - xda-developers

Dont wanna sound like a total noob, but i really wish someone made one of these JUST for our devices, and that it was easier to use, something like with a Wizard. I'd be more than willing to donate to that

I'm happy to see someone has some enthusiasm about this... I was afraid this thread would die.

Yes if someone wants to setup the cooker page i would have no problem supplying the parts and images.. i have created alot of my own icons as well... I would help with the web stuff as much as possible.

here goes nothing....

So I'm ready to test my kitchen skills(or lack there of). Finally got dsixda's HTC Android Kitchen up and running in ubuntu virtual machine. Tried to go with Cygwin, but can't get it to open. And after some hiccups, i got my vm to load the kitchen. Gonna read up on everything i can find before I start to "cook". Of course having never done anything like this, any advice would be appreciated!

thanks to dsiXDA for his Kitchen and to David Cogen and the unlockr.com for the setup tutorial
