I have a rooted nexus 7 2013 on a kit Kat 4.4.2, everything was working fine til last night when my WiFi symbol has turned orange and now can't connect to Google play. I have restarted device and router, tryed different routers and force stopped play services any one got any help? Thanks

What kind of broadband do you get at home? Cable, DSL, FiOS? You might consider resetting your modem.

Does the tablet connect to networks outside of your house? If so, I would suspect your broadband provider even more.

You can't connect to the Google Play Store or you don't have any Internet access?

When you navigate to Settings -> Wi-Fi and long-press your SSID does it show any reason for the orange icon?

I can connect to the internet and appa like faceboo that require internet but just not gmail or Google play

You might consider removing your Google account and adding it back. Maybe something got screwed up with the Google password or credentials?

Do you have syncing enabled for your Google account?
Can you login to your Google account via a browser?

No that won't work because I can't even sign in as I deleted my account to try and add them again but now I can't add them again

Is your router connected to a cable or DSL modem? If so, have you tried power cycling the modem? Sounds like you are connecting to the router but the router possibly isn't connected to the internet. Do you have other devices working off the same router that are working normally?

Yes we do have other devices, we have a galaxy s4 xperia s nexus 4 nexus 5 and nexus 10and they all work the same. When I log my account onto them it works fine which makes me think that its an issue with the tablet.

I guess it's time for a Factory Reset and if that doesn't fix the problem then reload the stock firmware.
