Order Problems (Canceled, On Hold, Pre-Orders, etc..)

I'm pretty sure Verizon didn't mess up the cvc code. How is it that thousands of other cards were fine except yours?

Re: Your Order is on Hold

It would seem that a few people's phones shipped this week, but I just talked to CS and they said that most phones were going through verizon's system right now and would ship out on the 9th or 10th. This may be true only for people who ordered early in june though.

Re: Your Order is on Hold

The agent I talked to said to ignore all the reports of it shipping on the forums, since it was just hijinks. I said, "well people are posting pictures of their emails with tracking #'s" and she was like, "they will not ship early".

I just hope mine DOES ship early, and didn't get delayed due to my bank. But I'm an impatient soul. :)

Agent was wrong. Orders are shipping (including mine :) )

Re: Your Order is on Hold

I spoke to several clueless CSR since yesterday. I wasn't able to get anything done in regard to my orders on hold. Finally I have better luck today. Yes, I called them today and they are working today! This CSR was very knowledgeable and he manually charged my card and confirmed both orders are in good standing. Confirmed with credit card company both charges were good. And i'm now back at front of the queue. :) Both orders were sent to the packing department and expected to ship out by tomorrow.

Also, this CSR reminded me to double check that I have unlimited before and after phone activation. If for whatever reason I end up loosing my unlimited after phone activation, I have 14 days to contact them to make correction. They can't help me after 14 days.

That is good advice for everyone. Thanks for including that in your post.

Re: Your Order is on Hold

For those of you blaming AMEX it might have to do with your usage history. While I have occasionally had a problem with AMEX (and other companies - especially BofA) it is usually resolved quickly. My charge (to AMEX) posted as pending last night and I received the e-mail today stating it was shipping today (by Fedex 2 day) with expected arrival date of July 9th (BTW my original order (June 6) stated a SHIPPING DATE of July 9 and now I should have it in hand by July 9.

I was one of those who is vocally blaming Am Ex. I have excellend credit, and use my Am Ex several times a month (my visa is my primary card). I pay my bill in full as soon as I get it. When I called Verizon about the credit card issue, Verizon told me Am Ex often does deny cell phone online purchases. When I then called Am Ex, THEY TOLD ME THEY DENIED IT BECAUSE IT WAS AN ONLINE CELL PURCHASE which they have found is often fraud.

It's very interesting to see this happened to SEVERAL PEOPLE yesterday, not just me - and only with Am Ex.

Oh, and Amex told me they tried to reach me before they denied it, which was FALSE, since I was working from home when the charge was attempted through when I called them.

And yes, as you can tell, I am still angry about this and have learned never to use my Am Ex for an online purchase. Thank goodness Verizon made it very easy to change my credit card info without delaying my delivery!

Just a heads up folks, like some of the people on here, my order was placed on hold. I called them up and it was a credit card issue, and they recharged my cc and it went through. The CSR then went ahead and got it shipped out to me. Just thought I share.

I worked at AMEX for 9yrs, although not in a customer-facing position. I know a guy that was a team leader in customer service and ran this AMEX declining charges scenario by him. Here is what I was told:

Call the number on the back of your card. Tell the agent that you want a charge from ?merchant name? and ?amount? noted in the accounts Authorization Notes (make sure it?s not in the General Notes).

There is absolutely NO GUARANTEE that this will preauthorize anything, but it couldn?t hurt. If anything maybe the Fraud department that is calling everyone will see the note before calling to see if the charge is legit.

I am going to give AMEX a call this evening to be as proactive as I can. Just need to know what the merchant name is. Will someone post the merchants name as it appears on their CC transactions (we know it?s not Verizon Wireless)?
