Oshi- Brick?

I am currently on XP, but tomorrow I will be able to access my computer with Windows 7 and I will try to install the drivers on that computer. Thanks for trying to help everyone!

Alright, I was in this exact situation yesterday. Today, I have a fully working Optimus, exactly like it was before I foolishly hit the LG Style Recovery button... Heres how I did it.

1. Get the phone into fastboot mode. Blue screen, you know the one. Plug it in (USB) and let it sit there.
2. Download THIS from a thread I found about rooting from fastboot. You only need one file from this package, but I don't know where else to get it.
(I'm assuming you're on Windows. If not, you'll have to adapt this to your OS.
3. Unzip. Durr
4.There should be a .bat file in the root folder you unzipped to. Click it.
5. Self explanatory, type 'y' and hit enter. You already know that this device is yours to brick.
6. You want to pick option 2, flash the full package.
7. Wait
8. When it finishes, it will boot into a really weird recovery that I don't like. But, you should have a fully functioning (stock) phone. Flash your recovery back on, apply rom, and away you go.

Ok, I got a new recovery on my phone (from fastbootroot) and now my phone will only boot into recovery, no matter what ROM I flash.

Well now that you have a recovery, you should be good. Can you connect with ADB? Try flashing the Xionia recovery you had before, going into the mounts and storage menu, and formatting EVERYTHING (except the sdcard)

Then flash a rom.

EDIT: Instead of a rom, you could try a stock Nandroid. link

I got it fixed, I just flashed Xionia recovery while in recovery with ROM tools. Thanks for all the help guys! I don't know where I would be without you!

Android Central: Making iguanas a little less irate since 2011.

Congrats on pulling through. :)

So was that all you needed to do? Flash xionia recovery and restore nandroid backup?

Congrats...

Well, I had to use fastbootroot to install a new recovery and stuff, but when I did that it kept looping in recovery still even though I flashed Harmonia. So I flashed Xionia recovery while in the recovery fastbootroot put, and tada, it stopped looping :D.

Hi, I have a similar problem.

Here's everything that happened:
Flashed Clockwork recovery onto phone and wiped out all the old ROM.
Flashed Cyanogen Mod 7.0.0.
It worked fine (except for some random issues, like the proximity sensor).
Went into ROM Manager (came prepackaged with aosp's CM7) and selected "update ROM"
Selected version 7.0.3 and chose the option to backup current ROM.
The phone rebooted automatically and cam back with the blue screen:
"Fastboot mode started
gpio_i2c: invalid khz: 0"
bl: i2c write error
wdc_start()
Processing commands"

I wait like 2 hours and nothing happens.
So I unplug and replug battery and it boots into CM7 thankfully.

If I reflash recovery using the above methods, will it wipe my system?

Thanks

ROM Manager does not support the correct software for the optimus V.

ROM Manager only works with ROMs that the dev has submitted, and they are usually not ports like aospCM7 is.

So did I screw up my phone by attempting the update?

I would like to reflash the recovery.
I attempted to reflash the clockwork recovery using adb but it gave me an error saying that the recovery already exists.

As it is now, if I try to reboot into recovery, I get the fastboot bluescreen and it just sticks there.

I got the same blue screen. I planned to install a new ROM and I followed the instruction on how to install a new ROM:Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, Under Partitions menu (or Mounts & Storage in 3.0.0.6) in recovery: Format boot, system, data, cache. Under advanced: wipe Dalvik Cache. Then I press "Reboot" by mistake, so I came here.

I have the same situation and tried to do the above, after I run the fastbootroot.bat, it showed "error: device not found <waiting for device>" , but I'm sure I connected my phone via USB with my computer, looks like it couldn't recognize my phone. I tried to reinstall the LG driver to my computer(running in Windows7 64Bit), it still can't recognize my phone. What's the problem????

PS: When I start the phone, this is the messages shown on the screen:
Fastboot mode started
gpio_i2c: invalid khz:0
bl:i2c write error
udc_start()
-- suspend --
-- reset --
-- portchange --
-- reset --
-- portchange --

file2000, go to device manager while your phone is in fastboot and plugged it, find where your phone is and right click it. Click Update Driver Software, and choose search windows update. It should find the fastboot drivers. Then run the fastboot program and tada, it should work.

Optimus V (unrooted) took a swim

Would any of these tips in this thread pertain to a "unrooted" optimus v? My son got his 1 day old V wet, and now (after drying it out in a baggie of rice), it only goes into the blue fastboot screen.
Any advice? Thanks.

Just return it to the store for a replacement. You have a 30 day window to do so outside of the regular manufacturers warranty. I doubt anything here will fix it. They'll take it back with no questions asked.

Yeah, the 30 day warranty should cover that, and since its not rooted you don't have to worry about unrooting it.

Thanks guys, but the phone was purchased in april. Only this week did we activate it for my son. So return isnt' going to work.

Is there any hope of rooting the phone now... I don't think I can make things worse.

Thanks anyhoo... :)
