I am currently on XP, but tomorrow I will be able to access my computer with Windows 7 and I will try to install the drivers on that computer. Thanks for trying to help everyone!
Ok, I got a new recovery on my phone (from fastbootroot) and now my phone will only boot into recovery, no matter what ROM I flash.
I got it fixed, I just flashed Xionia recovery while in recovery with ROM tools. Thanks for all the help guys! I don't know where I would be without you!
Alright, I was in this exact situation yesterday. Today, I have a fully working Optimus, exactly like it was before I foolishly hit the LG Style Recovery button... Heres how I did it.
1. Get the phone into fastboot mode. Blue screen, you know the one. Plug it in (USB) and let it sit there.
2. Download THIS from a thread I found about rooting from fastboot. You only need one file from this package, but I don't know where else to get it.
(I'm assuming you're on Windows. If not, you'll have to adapt this to your OS.
3. Unzip. Durr
4.There should be a .bat file in the root folder you unzipped to. Click it.
5. Self explanatory, type 'y' and hit enter. You already know that this device is yours to brick.
6. You want to pick option 2, flash the full package.
7. Wait
8. When it finishes, it will boot into a really weird recovery that I don't like. But, you should have a fully functioning (stock) phone. Flash your recovery back on, apply rom, and away you go.
Would any of these tips in this thread pertain to a "unrooted" optimus v? My son got his 1 day old V wet, and now (after drying it out in a baggie of rice), it only goes into the blue fastboot screen.
Any advice? Thanks.
Thanks guys, but the phone was purchased in april. Only this week did we activate it for my son. So return isnt' going to work.Yeah, the 30 day warranty should cover that, and since its not rooted you don't have to worry about unrooting it.
