I was able to re-apply root as well, but the Su binary doesn't want to update to the latest version:

when you did this did you loose all your apps and data?

no nothing was lost, it had to reprogram itself but thats no biggie.

I charged my battery to 100% and I have had the phone disconnected from the charger for 2 hours now... battery level is 63%.

Time for a full reset I guess..

Did anyone notice that this update fixed a bug when accepting calls via the car dock? Before, when you answered the call, it went into speakerphone mode (which it still does), but pressing the "speaker" button, you could transfer the audio to your car speakers... which disabled the microphone. Now, the microphone works in that mode.

Yeah Cubfan that was one of the fixes (though I can't remember if they documented it) . . . for those of you having issues with battery life, make sure it didn't change your battery mode. I didn't notice any changes at all to battery life during testing.

When my screen is off, not doing anything my phone gets warm and the battery drains like crazy. I hope there is a reason for this and I can undo whatever it is.

Update not working for me. When I go to About Phone and check for updates, it says one is available, but it doesn't download it. When I check again for the update, it says that it's downloading it, but nothing is happening. Anyone else have that problem?

I couldn't wait for the update, so I had gone ahead and downloaded the update through the xda forums last week.. I havent experienced any problems and the battery is just as it was before. People who are experiencing battery problems should check the battery mode and see what apps are running.

Something going on with the battery after this update. To anyone that hasn't got the update yet, maybe you should wait, I have seen here on AC forums and over at Andriod Forums, responses from people about battery life taking a serious hit, and my Photon is doing the same thing also. I just ran a little test, fully charges to 100% took it off the charger, in one, that's 1 single hour, I recieved 4 text messages and replied to 4 text messages, my battery is now at 90% I did nothing else with the phone besides the 4 very short text messages.

ditto the battery issue - phone last 3 hours today after the update. phone heats up quickly when doing nothing and battery drains as if i'm on 4g or something with the screen on. I just re-rooted, maybe that will help. checking battery settings also.

Broke torpedo root, just reran it to fix.

Don't think, rerooting had any thing to do with the battery drain.

Battery went down fast before, the reroot.

Also, I can only charge it thru an outlet. If I try to charge it thru my PC or MAC usb, the phone shows that it is charging but after several hours the battery level never changes.

I did the update today also and have not seen battery issues. In fact I was listening to the baseball game tonight over the internet for about 2 hours while on 4g and my battery draine seemed normal for that much usage.

Every day I unplug my phone in the morning, go to work, use it unplugged during the morning, and, if I remember, I usually plut it in in the afternoon. I am pretty aware of battery use during the work day.

This update made no difference in my battery life.

I wonder what it's interacting with for the people who have a problem. Are you using bluetooth? (I don't) A non-stock launcher? What are the usual suspects? Because I am absolutely sure this is not a universal problem.

ditto - mine isn't charging via USB either....ugh!!!
