Enjoy

Added. Scroll down and look at Madrox quoted text for how he got it to work.

Add again: so I was damn tired when I got the link some other peeps helped out.
Check out OFFICIAL: update.zip is finally here! :D - xda-developers
there is some important version info that could limit if you can use this file or not.

Have fun and stop stalking the darn internet now.

teslatech, you rock! Works like a charm! I am really enjoying some frozen goodness this evening! :p

It worked like a champ. Once I figured out how to move the zip file to root it was on. Smooth sailing. Can't believe that VZW has taken so long to send the upgrade via OTA.

wow wtf. i did downloaded the file, put it in the root of my sd card and ran recovery and loaded....now my phone is worthless.

seriously, it loads up and sits on a screen that says HTC and has a percentage bar. it gets to like 95% then restarts....and repeats.

i tried taking the battery out and restarted. it loaded into my home screen but it lags like ****. and nothing works. cant load widgets, cant click icons nothing.

WTF. currently downloading the downgrade back to 2.1 and going to try and fix this. really miffed right now.

finally got it working after having to downgrade. why do ppl keep saying to put the update.zip in the root of your sd when you arent suppose toO?

OTA Link

Hey Jayhawkfan18,

I saw you asking a few times how to get back to stock. I'm wondering if you've been able to get there by now?

Stock HTC Incredible Recovery Image ? Just another blog

The restore image for the stock 2.1 build is PM31IMG and can be found among other places at the link just above.

If not, you need to place the original 2.1 files on the root of your sd card and report into recovery mode. It will see this file there and load it up. It will then ask if you want to install. Say yes, it will restore to factory stock and then reboot. From there you will then be able to go back into restore menu and run update.zip and upgrade to 2.2

I hope this help!

We are doing everything the way it normaly comes out. We are using stock recovery and the very download that was sent to my phone.

Plus more then half the peeps here will just install clockwork, root and be back to a hacked phone in no time. Then when the next update comes out we will unroot put the stock recovery back on and be back here again.

Plus look we defeated the OTA push from verizon once. Why do you not think we could do it again.

Just curious, can you log into twitter via setup on your OTA updated phone? People are having issues with Peeps/Friendster 'cause the login isn't working. Wondered if this was an update.zip issue or you have the same issue on your OTA update? Thanks!

I have been looking for a long time for an answer. I have rooted with unrevoked 3.1 but stayed with stock 2.1. Do I need to unroot to get the OTA or will I get it even with root?

Really? Sucks. Any links as to how? Thanks so much for the response.

this is the directions I followed

[Q] Want root AND want OTA - xda-developers

But I ran into a hitch of I removed some of the bloatware when rooted and the update failed the first time. So I had to go fall back on a recovery I had made with clockwork right after I rooted it to get those apps back so the update would work.

I also suggest you follow my link in the first post to xda where schwartzman93 posted a bunch of findings on how you can get the update to work depending on some version numbers.

Need help

Wife did OTA install and all looked OK until she tried to make a call. Red earpiece fails, but can go to speakerphone or BT and it is OK. Speaker was fine prior to OTA. I just tried reinstalling the file from XDA and still no earpiece.

Please help.

SWYPE is NOT included in 2.2....

If you had SWYPE and it doesnt work, you have to unistall it and uninstall the installer.

Then download and install....

This is what I had to do... Guess I was still using an earlier beta version that didnt play nice with 2.2

Lego!

To be able to do that you need to have s-off mod installed on your phone. Without it it will not let no signed packages be installed. There is another way to go about it which is much more involved, but it can be done.

I followed the directions to the letter for the OTA update, but I cannot get my phone to stop/start rebooting.

How can I downgrade back to Version 2.1?
