OTA Should Be Live Now

My wife just called to say she got a message about an update but when she clicked ok it failed the first time and then it retried and she got a notice that said this update is not available on the thunderbolt. Keep in mind I wasn't there to see it or help her so I don't know if she did something wrong our what the deal is.

LIES haha.

I wonder if it failed because she lost 4g/3g service...

or i wonder if it was an App update...

Wasn't an app update, she said it was a software update. I described to her how to do it manually and it said no update available. I told her to keep me posted if she gets the message again but she gets really busy on Wednesdays.

EDIT: She said the notice said it failed due to somethin to do with a signature????

hm...well, at least there's confirmation (of some sorts) that the update is actually rolling out.

signature? did you root her phone?

Not rooted...I don't have the guts or confidence to root any of our phones. Of course I'll have egg on my face if I go home and look at her phone only to find out it was an app update. However, she did say that it said software. If it was na app update you guys will never know:-[...hahahaha:p

EDIT: In fact she said it came as a notification on her notification bar when she turned her phone on.

Just checked in Portland, OR. Nothing new yet. Apparently the "rolling out" in stages is really VZW code for a few dudes in the R&D lab.

Why are you posting your locations... OTA's are not location specific but rather a random list of MEIDs.

If it was location specific, that would result in network congestion, something Verizon likes to avoid.

Guys, It will happen when you are sleeping. Well, more likely.
