OTA to 5.5.893 and Lost Root?? Click here..

Safestrap is different than bootstrap. That's likely why you're getting an error. You need to use bootstrap recovery.

Had a dog and his name was BINGO.

Safestrap was designed for a different purpose and shouldn't be used in place of bootstrap :)

well im screwed then because i dont own a credit card to purchase bootstrap and i was under the impression that the two were the same. Anything like bootstrap thats free?

If that's what I think it is it's a much older version of recovery. Does the free version of Rom Manager allow you to install recovery? I own the premium version so I haven't used the free one like ever. :)

Correct that its an older version but I believe it will work. Worth a shot at least.

But I think you may actually be right that the free version of Rom Manager will install recovery...

Yea I think I had issues with it on one of my backups. I used it cause I didn't want to load the market and get my paid version. Don't remember the error I got but I think it was cause the backup was made with a newer version of recovery.

aaaaaaaaaannnndddd, i got excited too soon! the bootstrap worked but when I restarted I went into file manager and gave it superuser permission but at my attempt to rename a program with .old on the end (as I had done before the OTA update) it says "operation failed"....STILL!

Ok, after many many pages of forums on the bionic and root and regaining root after update that broke root, I have to say thank you very much for all the effort put forth by everyone who made it possible for me to attain root again after I had root, bricked phone after installing different ROM's, reset phone to factory, got update without root and now was able to get root with the 1 click exploit, BIG thank you!!!
Great way to start off the new year, my Bionic with Root, all feels right with the world now.:p

I had updated and lost root after returning my phone to factory .886 then I updated and got the OTA to 5.5.893 but no root. Now with the 1 click exploit I very easily got root (Someone should sell t-shirts that say "Got Root", if not done already) very easy to get this for me, put phone in debug mode and hook up to comp, extract 1 click into a folder and click "runme" literally 3 minutes later I had root. (PS USB to charge only)

Again Big Thank You fellas!!!

Make sure after using the 1-click that you go back and apply the forever patch.
