Outlook Calendar Won't Sync

This worked for me too, thanks! To clarify for anyone that needs extra assistance, you go into your main phone settings, not the calendar app settings.

Hi, bumping this thread as I'm now having same problem since upgrading my Xperia z5c to 6.0 and doing a full reset.

I have an outlook.com account where I do all my email and calendar activities.

I have set up my outlook.com account on my phone using the Outlook app.

All my emails and contacts are synced.

My Outlook calendar however is NOT syncing. None of my events are showing in the calendar When I create new events in it, they disappear. The calendar sees the calendar I have in 'the cloud' with its name and everything, but when I select it, nothing appears in the calendar.

Unfortunately none of the suggestions above are applicable due to older versions of android, or people using the Outlook desktop software or Exchange accounts which I am not - I just have an outlook.com account.

I should add this was working fine in Android 5.x that came with my Z5.

I recently bought a Nexus 5x (runs marshmallow 6.0) and have exactly the same problem as Jezston.

I can mark the agenda but it won't show the items. It will only show calendars which are "read only" like holidays and birthdays from my outlook account.
When I add an item to my private calendar, it will not show up in the app but strangely enough will show up in my agenda on my PC.

It seems to me the agenda's are syncing alright but the items are just not showing in the app. I'm hoping that it's just a software issue of the outlook app and it will be patched soon

Found a solution.

1. Install Nine (trial). Type in your email details. Sync.

2. Open the account settings in Nine. Write down all the details of your server. The most important info is the server address. Mine is dub408-m.hotmail.com

3. Open Accounts in Settings. Remove your existing Exchange ActiveSync account. Create a new one. Choose Manual Setup.

4. Type in the details (server) you wrote down from Nine. The calendar should sync now without problem.

5. Uninstall Nine. Voilà! Not sure if it works for you, but it did for me...

Hi guys, i've had this problem many times... when you add your 'outlook' accounts to sync to your android phone, make sure you add the accounts through 'microsoft exchange' and not just the outlook options. it gives the full list of options for what to sync.

contacts , calendar, etc. then when you go to your android calendar app , your outlook accounts should be there as options.

I was searching around for info on this issue for my new GS7 Edge, with Marshmallow - Outlook email syncing fine to native Samsung email app, but Calendar & Contacts would not sync. Someone posted a method for addressing this last year and it worked for me exactly as it worked for them. Go to Settings / Accounts / Microsoft Exchange Active, click on More and choose "Sync now". Last year's poster said they thought that they had done this before - I KNOW that I did, and that it did not work the first time, but after doing it 2-3 times all of a sudden a Calendar reminder popped up on my phone and I was in business! (Outlook contacts finally showed up at the same time.) So, the message is to be persistent - don't settle for trying this once and concluding it doesn't work! I was happy with the native Samsung calendar and email apps, they always worked fine for me on my GS4, and I love their look in Marshmallow, I didn't want to learn something new, and I'm now very pleased that indeed I don't have to.

I'm having the same issue on my S7. I've synced manually many, many times and once in a while the events do show up, but then if I check again a few minutes later they don't display. I can add events to any calendar I want and they show up on other devices, they're just not shown on my S7.
What I also see is that some calendars get "deselected" from view automatically in the Outlook app.

To illustrate, in my Outlook.com account I have two calendars, one private and one shared with my wife. I don't have any problems with my shared calendar, but the private one just won't display for longer than a few minutes. With the Outlook app open and showing the calendars section, if I use the hamburger menu to display which calendars are available, my private one is not selected.
I select it, then sync as described by mia11691 and sometimes the events show, sometimes not. But even when they do, when I go back a few minutes later the events are "gone" and the private calendar is no longer checked under the hamburger menu - Outlook just decides i don't really want to see that I guess.
I don't have this problem on my 1st gen MotoX or 1st gen Moto G ( Both running Lolipop ). So I don't know if this is a Marshmallow issue, a Samsung issue, a general Outlook app issue, Outlook.com/Hotmail issue, but whatever the cause it is really annoying.

This worked for me, dont know why they make it so confusing.

I got a similar issue in a new P8 lite. I used outlook 365 and Mail works fine. However I imported on the web version of outlook the iCal file I had exported from my old phone so that 150 events are moved. Events display ok on the web version of outlook calendar but do not sync on the phone.
However if I create an event in the phone, it automatically displays on web outlook calendar. Tried to resync, removed and re-set the accounts but still no luck. Any suggestions ?

Anyone found a solution for this besides downloading the outlook app...experiencing the same issue. Added exchange active sync..email syncs ok but exchange calendar not showing up and cannot add because it says 'email address already in use'.

***UPDATE
weird suddenly started working. (This is for the S6 Edge)..swipe down, select settings icon (gear); swipe to 'personal'; select 'accounts';select 'Microsoft Exchange Activ..' Ensure the 'on' is green for Sync Calendar'; select 'more' (top right); 'sync now'.

Swear that's all I did , (which I thought I'd done before) and the active sync account showed up under calendars and appointments started populating. Hope this helps someone.

Worked perfect for my 7 Edge. Thank you,

Has this been reported to Sammy? I couldn't find a help article on their site... Really surprised this bug has been persisting for years with no fix

That original EAS active sync solution worked for my galaxy s7 edge on big red but I shouldn't have to do that with a company the size of Sammy right?!?!?!?!

I got the Outlook calendar I shared with my wife to finally load up on my new Galaxy Note 7, by creating an event on the Note 7 on the shared Outlook calendar. Absurd that it wasn't working, and more absurd that creating an event on the Android device would kick things to work.

That said, I am disappointed that the Outlook app for Android is prehistoric compared to the app on Windows Mobile 10 and even on WM 8 and 8.1. On Android, Microsoft's app does not even Support recurrent Meetings, every nth day of the month recurrent meetings, ending dates for recurrent meetings, free/tentative/busy/out-of-office meetings, etc. Too bad the wife is still happy using a Windows phone otherwise we we would switch to Google Calendar or something more functional than what the Outlook app for Android currently offers.

Here's an option that actually works like Exchange without Exchange. Did I just contradict myself?! :) Take a look at AkrutoSync (Automatically Sync Outlook Across All Devices | AkrutoSync). If you prefer not to sync Outlook with the cloud, this will do the job and keep your contacts and calendar updated. HTH

Thank you! After trying the other suggestions on here with my S5 recently updated to Marshmallow, this was the only method that worked. I setup account multiple times under "Exchange" first, and had the problem where it appeared to Sync but nothing showed up. When I tried to setup "Microsoft Exchange Activesync" it would just hang trying to connect to the default server (don't recall what it was). Installing Nine revealed the server as outlook.office265.com, which worked perfectly once I removed Nine, went back and changed the server name under Activesync manual setup.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wasted half a day and some this am to get this to work! Thank you so much! My server was: outlook.office365.com Then linked right up!!! Now my life is back on track with my calendar working!

THANK YOU! This has been driving me crazy!
I have too many years worth of appointments that I may have to refer back to not be able to use my Hotmail account on my Android devices.
