I recently bought a Black Verizon LG G2 VS980 4G phone from eBay to use on Page Plus $30 4G monthly plan (with PP SIM).

It has:
Android 4.2.2.
Software version: VS98012B
Rooting status: Unrooted

I am having issues in updating the Android version. I did not get OTA Android update. I found Verizon Upgrade Assistant and USB drivers online. Unfortunately, the assistant is not recognizing my phone. I tried all connection modes (MTP, ethernet, modem). I also enabled USB Debugging in Developer Options.

Is this a common issue with G2 ? Am i missing something ? Thanks in advance.

I have the same phone on pp also. I've got 4.4.2 on mine with no problems. Your just not receiving the update?

i installed VZW update tool and it eventually recognized the phone, updated to Lollipop. I did wipe and started again. Rocking 5.0.2 now!

I too have a LG G2 on Page Plus and my Lollipop 5.0.2 popped up on Monday 7/6/15. It loaded OK and all was working as described until Friday morning. The second part of the update went much quicker and the phone went crazy when it was finished. Apps popping open, screens changing rapidly, just total crazy behavior. Shut it down and restarted in safe mode and uninstalled a few recently installed apps. It didn't seem to like Nova Launcher or Theamer which I'd installed between the two updates. Switching back from safe to regular modes and adding one app at a time seemed to fix the problem. I say seemed because many hours of testing apps one at a time has me spooked about adding anything new. Two other friends who have G2's are still awaiting their update notices. I believe because I had installed earlier the LG Verizon United software on my computer it kicked the update sooner That file is called -- LG_VZW_United_WHQL_v2.22.0. You will need to enable USB debugging after opening up "developer status" is how mine worked.
