Panda says screen and battery suck?

sad that someone started a thread about a joke.. As for those asking who the panda is???! I'm rick james!

My usage is much higher then most.. I use about 4gb of data a day running test situations and the like. So 6 hours of battery is more than the bionic gave me.. I killed that in 3..

Tell us the specs!!!!

I don't joke about batteries ;-). Thanks for clearing that up, I was getting about six hours max on the Bionic so I am thinking that I can make the prime work.

Now its almost certain that it has LTE. if he is comparing it to the bionic which he dropped in 3 hours on 4G data we can assume he is doing the same with the nexus prime!

is there any phone that can handle the Panda? Actually, don't answer that! I don't want to know about any new phones for awhile!!

Many months ago the Panda suggested that we stop waiting and obsessing over the Bionic... and pick up the TBolt before Verizon stopped writing one-year contacts. I did. I'm happy. And I'm getting ready for my next new device soon :-). Thanks Panda.

That's sounding better. I guess multi-threading and GPU acceleration did pay off!

Thank god. I was worried about the battery, but if it can last 6 hours for the usage the Bionic could only last 3, I'll be happy.

Do you have any friends that have used the moto spyder and if so how does it stack up against the prime. My rooting/flashing Rom days are over so vanilla ics isn't a must have thing for me.

Specs seems similar. Both are rumored 1.2 dual core with 1gb ram. Razor will have 8mp camera versus 5 on the prime. I think the big thing here is the total stock android experience that everyone is craving...including myself. I might even trade my bionic in for this bad boy.

Let me respond with a "duh" question...
How's the battery life in your Thunderbolt? Mine was drastically improved when I flashed a custom kernel. Since ICS will be open source, kernel source will be released and devs will be hard at work overclocking on undervolting the processor in no time.

When I pay 600$ plus for a phone I don't think I wana play technical support out of the box as someone has already made this comment before. It has to work!

I'm still thinking the battery life will be horrible, but then I'm curious how much Google would care about battery life and stuff like reception. They have to care, don't they? It's their showcase phone... Hmm.

Well....Panda killed the Bionic in 3-4 hours of what he described as "heavy usage" (4gb of data). He said the Prime lasted 6 hours for similar usage, so I think that bodes well for the device. I said this before - I don't need some insanely good battery. I have no problem with having to plug it in every night - I understand that's just how things work. All I need it to do is last a 15-16 hour day with periods of moderate usage and I'll be happy.

He also said he gets 10 hours our of his Nexus S. So that's a 4 hour reduction from the previous model of the phone?

I hope there's something else going on there, but if that was apples to apples that'd be something to think about.

I really really really think we should stop surgically analyzing everything he says about the phone. He's a great source, but that doesn't mean he intends everything he says to be a headline. I'd imagine he gets very stressed with the way some of you respond to his passing comments.

Yeah there is, Like LTE, an HD screen and a possible high clock dual core on the new phone. You have to expect to take some hits when all this is going on.

I killed the Bionic in 15h of my normal use so I am happy to hear that he sees the Prime to last about 10-20% longer. That means I will make it through my day comfortably. With the speed of dual core processors like the one in the Bionic, I was also able to install Juice Defender with absolutely no lag or slow down of performance, thereby extending my battery life to over 24h.

This is great news for me. :) Hope Panda is right. K

I'm always surprised that more people don't use one of these. I just swap batteries whenever I need to. It takes like 5 seconds and being able to do so is one of the reasons I like Android phones over the iPhone.

Will this phone have a removable battery is a good question? Do you think its a possibility on this phone?

Seems to be something thats rarely mentioned on unreleased phones, But its one of the top features for me. So quick, never need to be tied to a wall.

This is a developer phone, if you are planning on it being 100% optimized out the gate you will be very disappointed and i would not recommend this device for you. If you want the latest and greatest software, youmust bewilling to grow with it. Manufacturers releasesafe kernels with voltages and clock speeds on the conservative side of possible for reliability purposes. Developers push the envelope of whats possible for the best combination of performance and battery life (overclock/undervolt).
