Passcode doesn't always come up

I've setup my security settings for a 4 digit passcode to be entered to unlock the phone. Problem is, it doesn't always prompt me for the code and just unlocks the phone when I swipe down. Why is that?

are you try right away or are you letting the phone sit for a bit before trying, it may be timed so that if you are just waking the phone up quickly you dont need to reenter the passcode

I think that's the case of waking the phone up quickly it just opens it. But that's a security hole. I want it to ask for the passcode every single time me or someone else tries to wake it up!

Ah, figured it out. In security settings "Lock phone after" was set to 5 minutes. I changed to "Immediately" and it now asks for the passcode every time I try to wake it up no matter how much time has passed.

I think that's the case of waking the phone up quickly it just opens it. But that's a security hole. I want it to ask for the passcode every single time me or someone else tries to wake it up!

i dont know if it can be adjusted, but i use this app that lets me lock just about everything on my phone down to the settings
