Performance Analysis - EVO LTE vs. US GS3 - EVO LTE faster...

Window phones only have 512 mb but can handle lot of high performance games even a 1gb of ram phone couldn't. As a hacker evo 4g LTE is a beast multitasking issues can be fix. I played max Payne and it run smooth as butter

Took me a second on the WebOs comment - then I hit my "multitask" button and the cards came up - good reference

Just got my SGS3 in my hand for my work emails etc...this thing is nice but camera is not as good as my LTE, will play around a little and see...SGS3 display can't compete with EVO...I still love my EVO more which is my personal phone...

I'd really love a quick review/real world experience from someone with both phones. Benchmarks and such don't impress me. I want to hear from someone who really uses their phones everyday.

Same here. I would really like to see some real-world comparisons, like how quickly each one boots up, opens and loads apps, and renders web pages. I returned my Evo LTE because it didn't seem as responsive as my previous phones. In fact, putting it next to my friend's SGS2 and comparing how quickly apps open and load, the Evo LTE seemed to be lagging really far behind, taking anywhere from 3-7 seconds longer (I know that sounds like not a big deal, but for a $600 next-gen device, c'mon).

Phone boot to usable - 21 seconds

Did it 6 times and averaged my results...all within 1-3 seconds of one another.

That is with Fastboot on, so it is not a "real" reboot. A real reboot takes much, much longer. I have seen many cases where a "Fastboot" doesn't fix certain issues and a real reboot does.

Yep - should have mentioned that. Sorry, am running late - only had time to turn it off and retest, with Fast boot off: Average time 38 seconds (3 tests).

Will try and do some better testing later...want to see what processes are running at default - versus the applications installed list. Will be interesting to see what gets priority!

Okay...so I ran tests after update and see a performance increase of about. 05% across the board in everything except for the wifi test where test results remained even...so there's something in that update that addressed the boy as well as "security"....interesting HTC, you may want to start communicating performance increases if you're going to realease updates that contain them!

.05%? Five hundredths of one percent? That is so small as to be absolutely uninteresting.

Lol half a percent...stupid early morning brain. And yes ..I'd say that's pretty significant for a software release!

No, half a percent is 0.5%. You said 0.05% which is 5 hundredths of a percent.

If I gave you 1% of a hundred dollars, it would be 1 dollar.
If I gave you 0.5% of a hundred dollars, it would be 50 cents.
If I gave you 0.05% of one hundred dollars, it would be 5 pennies.

If I covered the floors of your house with 10,000 pennies, were are talking a difference of 5 pennies....
