Phantom button pushing...

Anyone else experience any phantom buttons being pushed? I'm wondering if the touchscreen is going bad on my phone. I have been on the home screen and more often than not, the last option on whatever dock I'm on (scrolling dock LPP) pops up randomly. Earlier, Facebook randomly booted as well. And it was sitting on the desk, nothing touching it... It's getting frustrating. Just wondering if this has been a common issue.

I'm almost wondering if I have dust or something under the screen right there ala The Hero since it's the same option that gets popped up everytime...

That happened to me while I was driving at night and I almost killed myself. It only happens when it is on the charger, right?

I'm not positive. I'm pretty sure it's happened off of the charger, but since it spends a good chunk of time ON the charger, I can't be sure... let me get back to you there...

As far as the launcher, I'm using launcher pro, but it has hit the "clear" button on FB a few dozen times which is in the same spot, which leads me to think dust or something else. I have kids, you just never know what that "something else" could be... lol

Nope, does it off the charger as well... Gets to be a right PITA when I'm scrolling a web page or FB and it clicks on something randomly...

i had the same issue but wasnt as severe as yours. my phantom button pushing happened around the lower screen. i backed everything clean wipe, reinstalled rom and restored. no issues so far. although the clean wipe and install was suppose to fix my other issue, random booting but that still happens

Was it the lower right corner of the screen?

Mine like to make random to calls to people in my list and when i go to hang it up, the proximity sensor turns off the screen when i get near it even if i am not near the sensor.

This was happening to my phone and it drove me nuts,
shortcuts would appear on my homescreen on their own,
the screen would go nuts, i even posted about it here in the forum.

Some days it would get better, and then start up again,
at times i thought it was due to a greasy screen, or
even the close i wore thinking maybe it was static.

I was to the point of smashing the thing against a brick wall

Then one day i went to church with my phone in my pocket, and its been fine ever since!

OK just messing, i did the last update from sprint and did not install any extras
i noticed that the jitters had gone away, so Ive been careful of what i install,
i use Nicks rom and have no problems either, start with a fresh install no extras, and see if it still does it.

Just something for thought! Screens protectors can cause problems with the sensors! Especially the thicker ones like from invisashield! Sprint techs recommend not using the thicker ones for this reason of random presses.

Side note about dust under screen!! like i said i have had dust under my screen. Today I said thats it and installed my Nanroid of stock VD(I figured they would turn it on after taking it apart and putting back together, dont want to make plan as day the phone is rooted with custom recovery and all. ) and brought it in to sprint so they can clean the thing out! Good as new!

hate to say it but I'm gonna blame reborn 2.1. I just came to it a week ago from the 4/19 zefies gingerbread, and ever since my phone runs hot and has phantom activities and lag. it got way worse today after hosting hotspot to play on Xbox live and I believe its due to constant excessive heat degrading your processor, ESP if using wireless tether for root insteat of the hotspots widget which will run the wifi off the phones second processor devoted just to hosting. seems if I keep my phone near the air condition vent it happens less lol. sucks worse c

That is not the Rom causing that heat (all phones) that is just how Optimus work. That is the battery heating up from heavy loads(aka using hotspot to run x-box).
Second thing are you overclocking your CPU?

yes it was! on home screen thats where my market shortcut is on the dock it would always open

Anyone that blames the rom for the heat is just silly. I ran stock cm7 and reborn as well as the others and heat is gonna rise when ur phone is working hard. U think the os has heat... Try my stock evo then talk about battery heat.....

I don't use wireless tether, I, use hot spot widget and not that often either. I didn't change any of the settings that nick implemented in the rom so I font think its anything I did or the rom.
