Phone Dog. Battery life?

Has anyone seen the Phone Dog review? It is a recent review.

I saw the review. I was surprised about his battery life issues. I've had my nexus 6 for about a month now and I think the battery is nice. It gets me through the day and is better than the battery on my last two phones.

I now have a wireless charging pad on my work desk and one by my easy chair. I like keeping my battery topped off so for me battery life is a non issue.

Ah the joys of wireless charging! Its a wonderful thing isn't it? :)

I'm looking at it as my next phone (had the N4 and N5) but I'm holding off with the hope that the new 5.1 update will improve battery management/life as some sites have hinted at. 3-4 hours of screen on time is passable but a bit sub par imho... Especially for such a beast of a device. I get right around six with my rooted G3, and since I'm not always around a charger that extra millage makes a difference. Looking forward to the N6 though!

I keep my location services on and location history in, location set to high accuracy.

I get 3 to 4 hours screen on time most days and 15-24 hours of battery (depending on if I charge it over night)

I believe there are a few battery bugs, and some issues with Google play services location usage that still need sorting out.

Shamu to you too *splash*

Phonedog,Mobilesyrup, and MKBHD have all acknowledged the bad battery life.

Phone dogs review is labeled "after 3 months" and Mobile Syrups review is labeled after "2 months". MKBHD acknowledged he didn't take it to CES because the battery life wasn't that good.

Many people continue to say that people with "bad battery life" have defective devices or an early batch, but in actuality the battery life just isn't that good. There are ways to improve the battery life with rooting and using custom roms supposedly. The nexus 6 has a large battery and mediocre battery life.

I loath phones without the capacity for extended batteries. Looks like I'll be keeping my Note 3 for awhile.

Sent from my hooka via hash cloud.

This seems to be the general consensus from what I've read, though I realize some people may be getting a different (ie, better) experience. I'm thinking it's simply GOT to be an optimization issue. The note 4 is only marginally smaller, also sports a quad hd display, has all that touchwiz bloat, and still manages very good battery life from what I hear. So yeah, fix this with 5.1 google...lol. Don't let the nexus 6 be your mediocre battery life trifecta phone.

You may be right. I doubt that the reviews would be wrong only in the sense that I am sure that they would be knowledgeable on how to optimize the Nexus for a better battery life. No?

Sure, but the average consumer wants a phone out of the box working well.

Well I'm having great battery life. This is coming from a power user. No complaints here.

Sucks took it off the charger at 2am went to bed woke up at 8:30am and as of right now I am at 48% remaining with 13% screen time being the most active .

If you played a game or browsed the web for a while, or used any app that kept the screen on for a prolonged period of time, that amount of drain is hardly surprising.

That gives you 9 hours off charger, heading to 18 hours for the charge (not bad), but, I cannot estimate how much of your SOT has been. Are you using Facebook? That's a battery killer. There are others. Check your app usage and tell us.

It would really help if the folks that are disappointed, and those of us doing OK would post their actual stats of the battery drain time and screen on time, or post the screen shots to satisfy the cynics (settings/battery for graph, then tap on screen and you'll get SOT).

For the 3rd time, I'm getting 19 hours per charge with 5 hours SOT. Running stock ROM. Nothing off except GPS.

If he took it off at 2am and woke up at 830am with it at 48%.Wouldn't it only be 6 1/2 hrs off the charger? Either way that's horrible.

Especially since he was sleeping.

Let's quit blaming apps for the phones okay battery life. I get if you're coming from a nexus 4 or nexus 5, the battery life is great.

However, if your aren't, quit making excuses for it.

C'mon Ray, you're getting worked up again:p......

Not making excuses. If an app has a bug, you can't blame the phone.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying the battery is great, and coming from the Maxx series I'm well aware of that. Haven't had to be aware of my battery for 3 years until now. But aware isn't the same as finding the battery to be a problem. Again, my phone has performed more than adequately for me. The only reason I run it down towards 40 % by the end of the day is that I hardly ever use my tablet anymore

I was basing my estimate on the fact he said "now", and he posted after 11am. Otherwise, when did he use some screen time?

Pretty vague information.... You took it off the charger at 2 am... went to bed and woke up at 8:30 and at 10:00 am you are at 48%????? (or I assume at 10:00 am since that is when you posted this remark)

I don't think the Nexus 6 is OUTSTANDING on Battery life but I've had mind 3+ months and I very EASILY get 12 - 16 hours a day on a single charge with between 3 - 6 hours screen on time..... No gaming... WiFi, Bluetooth and location at high accuracy always on.... I had to serve on Jury Duty and for those 3 days where I couldn't use my phone hardly at all (Averaged like 1 hour screen on during those 3 days) my phone battery was still at 80% after going from 9 am - 5 pm in court.... and could easily make it through a full second day with that kind of usage....
