Phone pseudo bricked - really need some help (hopefully from thefredelement)

u can try a factory reset from the bootloader....i dont know why yur phne is randomly rebooting like that after u power it on though.....but if really got S-On then take it to the sprint store and tell them what its doing....just dont tell them that u attempted ROOT HAHA....let them deal with it....thats what i would do

dood....do a factory reset from the bootloader....u shouldnt have any reboots like that....i mean even though AUTOROOT screwed up...i cant think of a reason why yur phone is rebooting like that....but yeah, try the WIPE....that will return the phone back to the way when u first bought it....that sounds like that what u wanted to do in the first place right?

That's going to be my next course of action. I was just hoping somebody on here had a solution to the problem. I appreciate the help though.

Honestly, I didn't want to deal with Sprint at all. I've had a lot of bad experiences with them recently and was hoping to fix this on my own.

Okay man, i got bad news, and not so great news.

What it seems like you have, is a "soft" brick. Meaning that your phone doesnt see the SD card or USB, infact the only way your going to be able to charge it is to turn it off and charge, if you charge while its on its actually discharging.

To fix the soft brick, you need to be rooted and to get rooted you need your phone to see the USB. I believe you can fix the SD card read while unrooted though, but ill have to check the fix thread on XDA once XDA is back up and running.

So, for now try booting into the bootloader and make sure HTC sync is installed on your PC. Then hook up your phone to the PC via USB, and hit the fastboot option and see if your PC will see the phone - It should be android1.0 or media device or HTC somethin rather.

Let me know if it see's it or not.
