One advantage for me is that, as a person at 1 year on my contract, the corporate store will match the early update $299 price they are offering me online. I went ahead and made an appt. since there are np other better discounts I can get in my situation. 10am thurs I will be Bioniced.

Well they make sure you can use your NE2, and you know for sure release day they WILL have the phone LOL. Costco and a few other places I have heard so far are wishy washy about having the phones either the 8th or the 9th. I go because my friend works there and he makes sure I am setup with the right price and doesn't just do it for the sale. He actually wants to help people.
They have a Verizon store near me, but its not corporate.
The corporate Verizon store said I could do an early upgrade, with a $20 fee.
The non corporate Verizon store said they will not charge me the $20 fee.

As a fellow Santa Barbarain, I'd say the phone will not sell out. The Thunderbolt didn't. And like you said. Down there people are pretty in love with Apple. Mostly because they are clueless college girls or old people. Either way, I think you will be okay. Just go to get it somewhat early if you are afraid. Call places before you leave.
Verizon doesn't have the ne2 anymore. They stopped it a long time ago. Unless you never upgraded since they took the ne2 away you most likely don't have it. Right now only Sprint has a similar plan to the ne2 that verizon used to have. Good luck.

Lol you know what's up. It's true...not many Android users here in SB, but all the people I do know that have Android devices bought them because they just plain don't like missing features in iOS.
I'm planning on going down to Costco sometime this week and asking and/or just calling them. Have you gotten any luck to places around here telling you any info?
Have been quite aware of that fact for a long time that VZ stopped NE2. I never once in that post said you would get another one. All I was saying is that you would be able to use your last one there at the store since most other retailers don't honor it since it is primarily a corporate store discount. I along with alot of people still have our last NE2 to use so why would we not be able to?
So Costco opens at 10AM on thursday...which is not good for me lol. My classes start an hour later on thursday, so I'll have to leave 30 minutes after the time which I would've left during my Teacher's Assistant class. Guess 11:30 isn't that bad to get down there though...get my phone and have a nice lunch with my mom

Yeah I don't see a massive sellout during an hour and change. Besides, its good to spend some quality time with dear ol' mom (even though you won't be able to keep your hands off the bionic while doing so LOL).
Oh you think so? Ahahaha heck no is she going to keep that from me...I'm paying 11/12 of the money for it! Plus, my class after lunch is the one I want to show it off at anyways. And the one after that as well. Oh and then the next day I need to rub it in my 3rd class' teacher's face, he's a big pro-Apple, Microsoft/Google-hater lol.
I called my Verizon store this morning and they confirmed I could buy Bionic accessories right now (except I can get 20% off if I order them on-line because of my job) - I asked if I could pre-purchase or sign-up for the phone, after putting me on hold for a couple minutes, he took my name and phone number, told me I was on the list, and then told me to call on Tuesday or Wednesday and they could give me more information? Is it possible they may let us buy them on the 7th or just to tell me they don't have enough! I just wish Verizon on-line would let us order them now for shipment on the 8th!
I might get lucky with Costco, but I'd much rather order it online myself too. It just doesn't seem right to have to wait until the last minute to be able to order them.
That would be nice. I really don't want to have to go to the store and will probably end up ordering online anyway.

So where do you find accessories right now? I don't see them on line anywhere. I want to get a Verizon case/holster. Went by my Verizon store and have nothing so far.
I did ask about the possibility of buying one early from the store and was politely told, "no way." This was after he had looked up my account and saw that I have 5 lines/phones and get billed over $300/per month...forever! (Wow, that's over $3,600 per year. This is why I'm strongly against having to pay for tethering and also why I never care how much the phone itself cost. The real cost is your monthly plan. The phone is such a tiny percentage of your bill.) So, I don't think you're going to find a place to buy one before Thursday. It is very exciting to think that there are only 2 more days to live without the Bionic.

And it's very annoying that Verizon hasn't announced pricing and the exact date (even though they kind of already did) on their website. I want the full specs up on their website, not Motorola's stupid "we'll tell you specs that you already know once a day" thing on Facebook lol.
I called a large store in Monroeville, PA and he claims they have accessories in the store to sell right now. It was pouring rain or I might have run in to look, but I get 20% off from any accessory I buy on-line from Verizon because of my corporate discount.
I am also not sure what I want to purchase - I want two cradles, a car holder, and a case, but I also think I want an extended battery...if I get the extended battery with the larger back, will it fit in those items? I may give up on the extended battery, if I have to give up the other accessories.
Lol go try to fit a Bionic in there and see what happens. I would say that it probably wouldn't fit...but you can always get another battery if you're into getting more battery life. That just means that you're going to have to spare one sweet minute of your time to switch batteries.
I went ahead and made an appointment for 9am Thursday morning at my store. I called to verify they would have the Bionic and certain accessories and the rep told me that they only got a few units in for launch day. He fully expects them to sell out before noon. I live in a fairly populated area (it's an Army town) so when he said that I asked about making an appointment and he said he'd set aside a Bionic for me, along with the accessories I wanted to get. Win for me, lose for anyone else who gets there after they're sold out 
I am planning on ordering at midnight on Wednesday evening if I can. I just hope the things on the website. I am going to try the moto store first and then Verizon website. If i order it at midnight when would it be delivered?
