Own this for over a month, great phone but today something strange happened, I have 2 Screen lock types which are Pin & Fingerprint. The PIN password contains only 4 numbers and I use that every day but now my phone says it's not correct even though I'm certain that I enter the correct one.

Update: Decided to reset PIN Password via Findmymobile.samsung.com & Fingerprint to log in phone. The fun starts here:
_Removed the old PIN successfully + having Fingerprint removed at the same time during the progress
_Attempted to set up new Fingerprint + PIN.
_After placing new PIN, the Settings APP constantly keep crashing before I could set up new Fingerprint and currently have no resolve whatsoever except Factory reset.

I've done some research and found this issue has existed on several older Samsung phone including S7 long before. Guess I will Factory reset soon since having no choice , but If this become monthly issue I will switch back to Iphone which help me to get some peace in mind ffs

Before doing a factory reset have you tried just shutting your phone off for a few minutes or seconds then turning it back on to see if it works?

Also before factory reset, wipe the cache partition. Sometimes doing this will clear up weird behavior.

How to wipe the cache partition on the Note 8:

Back up data on the internal memory. I've never lost any data from this process, but just in case, back up important stuff.

Turn off the device.

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.

When the green Android logo displays, release all keys ('Installing system update' will show for about 30 - 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).

Press the Volume down key several times to highlight 'wipe cache partition'.

Press Power button to select.

Press the Volume down key until 'yes' is highlighted and press the Power button.

When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” will be highlighted.

Press the Power key to restart the device.

Thanks I was going to suggest that but I wasn't sure how to do it on my note8. Now I know.:)

so I didn't do the Factory reset, just Reset all settings fix the issue

Though this shouldn't happen to ~$1000 device honestly, could get real ugly in dif circumstance. Never had this kind of prob when I own Iphone 5 over 5 years

If you can unlock your device with fingerorint and not by your pin/password. Follow these steps:

1. Unlock your phone with Fingerprint.
2. Go to settings.
3. Go to Biometrics and security.
4. There you may see "Find my mobile". Tap on that
5. Turn on "Remote Unlock" Feature.
6. Now go to Samsung's Find my mobile website.
7. Login with your credentials used for Samsung account.
8. Unlock your phone by clicking on "unlock" on the website.
9. Now Lock your phone by "Find my Mobile" website. You will be asked for a new Password for your phone. (This is not a pin)
10. Now open the phone lock on your phone with this password.
11. Go to Settings.
12. Go to " Lock Screen"
13. Select "Screen Lock Type"
14.Select "Pin". Will be asked for Password which you set.
15. Type your New Pin which you want to Set.
16. Done.
