Photon 4G for $99 for contract extension

This is VERY tempting! Very good find!!
Only thing holding me back is the "premium data" fee that I currently don't pay...

Now I have 3 in my house. Both wife and daughter were due for an upgrade and could not pass it up. Both had BB's. Daughter has been buggin me for a phone like mine. So with this deal what else could I do? Wife was on the fence for a new BB but I told her the signal and call clarity on this phone is outstanding.

So I went to BB today, with printout in hand. I have a another year until my upgrade. Now they said I can pay the $300 for the phone and just sale my epic to them for $90? Lol yea right ill sale my mint rooted, fast as hell epic for 200. But how can I get this phone for $99 bucks?

They are willing to sell you the phone for $300? Take the deal.

so, to clear this up, can i get the photon for 99 with an extension, not due for upgrade until jan 2012
No, you will have to pay half price for the phone like me. I am not due for a full upgrade until June '12, BUT I may buy at $300 and sale my Epic on craigslist for $200....ill still be getting it at 100 bucks anyways :D

I bought this yesterday for 99$. It cost me 150.29 after tax. Is this what everyone else had to pay? I was pretty happy about 99$ but the tax just seems crazy. Paid tax on 600$ when the phone is really only 549$ ?

Yep in CA we are required to pay tax on full retail of the phone so I ended up paying $150 like you did, sometimes I wonder about this state

All of us living in CA already should know about the sales tax unless it's our first time buying a cell phone. It's not like it is something new. He is upset because he is being tax on $699 (it should be $699 despite he posted as $600) instead of $549 (the retail price from Sprint). Basically Bestbuys is charging him around $12 dollars more in tax.

Oh I see, either way you can't beat BB's price tag on the phone regardless of the ridiculous amount of tax we are required to pay :-!

It looks like it's gonna still be $99 for this week. Now any of us like me that has a contract up in September can get one.

The pricing of the Photon, given the quality, is an absolute steal.

I had Sprint move up my upgrade 4 months because I was one of the premier members who had it and lost it in April. I think they'll still honor it if you're in the same situation. Then I got a $25 service credit for complaining when Pre- #3 broke (Earpiece) and another $50 service credit for renewing for another two years. I bought my Photon for $199 at Best Buy on 7/31 and they price matched last week and gave me $100 back. That makes my Photon cost essentially $24. No complaints here :)

Wait, what? You got a service credit for renewing? Do you have more details on this and how others (like maybe me) might get this too?

Always. Your renewal service credit will be between $45 and $75 depending on your account type and status. Just ask for it.

according to an online rep today :

4:18:18 : Jim C.: You can get one service at one time. Either you can get credit for renewing the contract or you can upgrade your phone.

Call back and talk to someone else. I've received a service credit AND all the upgrade $$$ off for the last 4 upgrades, including the Photon last month.

I recommend going to another state to buy the phone if u can ;) I gues this became CA tax law in 1999 but like you, I never knew about it. When I asked why I was paying $50 in tax they told me I was paying tax on full retail not the subsidized price, CA is the ONLY state that does this
