Hello guys,

My phone suddenly started to take pictures with some blue dots. There is no evidence of physical damage to the glass. There seems to be a bubble beneath the glass but I can't be sure at this moment.

I'll leave it to dry during the next days, but any other ideas?

I'll add pictures with and without zoom

Best regards,
Luciano

Wow, a camera with 'eye floaters'.

They look kinda 'organic' to be just a damaged sensor, but can't really zoom very far in to see. Are they always in the same spot? Do they change color depending on the image? If they do change color or slightly change position depending where the light is coming from, then it is something distorting the image on the lens or glass (I believe someone had an issue with moldy growths between the lens and sensor and another one with dust issues). If the defect never changes location or color no matter where the light is coming from (or the light is very close VS very far), then it might be a sensor damage issue.

Just to be sure, have you tried another camera app? What about in video?

Yes, they are always on the same spot. For the last 6h, since I noticed the problem, they haven't changed position or color.

I tried other photo apps and the problem continued. From your suggestion I tried making a video and the problem is also there.

Is there any way I can provide a better resolution picture? I had to edit the original so I could upload here.

I think only uploading full-quality to a cloud site and sharing the link. Not sure if the S7 got it, but Samsung included a temporary link sharing service (link is active only for 48h), but if it did, that also works.

If it doesn't change color or position, though, sounds more and more like a sensor issue. If it was a lens it'd change color/hue or the edges would 'move' a little. Either a sensor or a processor issue (loose pins, faulty processor, etc.).

Last thing I'd try would be to take a picture in Safe Mode. Actually, scratch that. Try changing the camera quality resolution to something with a different aspect ratio. If the problem is the sensor, the defect should 'move' to a different spot or change size in the overall picture.

Hello. Sorry about the disappearance, I was on holidays.

So, the problem is still the same. Only difference is that the blue dots became "pinkish".

I uploaded the current situation to https://imgur.com/gallery/exzUqDP . As you suggested, I posted 2 different ratios. It seems that the position changed, but the overall aspect of the problem looks the same.

The problem may be connected with another one. About 4 months ago I dropped my phone. No cracks, but the screen displayed a small black area that seemed like dead pixels. This area increased its size during this span, and now covers a more rounded portion of the screen, about the size of half a penny, from the bottom left corner of the screen.

That definitely looks like some dirt (very tiny dirt particles) on the sensor - which should be sealed. The phone's not under warranty, but you might find a reliable shop that will replace the camera module without robbing you.
