Picked up a 4G Signal in Los Angeles!

I had written off the evo

I was in OC on the launch day. They had only 3g. The guy said 4g wouldn't be out for 8 months.

I was at a sprint store near beverly hills and the phone had 4g.

I asked the guys and they said that there were beta test towers in Beverly Hills, Corner of Hollywood and Highland, and Downtown.

So I bought one.

I'm in encino- and I try it from time to time- but get nothing. I work in glendale- and nothing here around the 5 and 134 interchange. I'll try to see on my drive home if I can snag any signal- but my priority is driving safely.

How will the display look when you hit 4G ? Will the 3G be replaced in the top menu?

I pick it up around the intersection of LA CIENEGA BLVD and WASHINGTON BLVD in CULVER CITY and on the I10 as i pass through DOWNTOWN.

i was able to get 4G in downtown LA as well as near the beverly center! the browser was super quick but drained my batteries quickly!

I picked up 4g signals at beverly glen all the way to sepulveda spotty in between wilshire and santa monica

there is the 4g logo, this is with a weak signal, the higher the signal the bars on the top of the 4g sign light up

I'm getting one or two bars of 4G inside in the Westlake District. The EVO periodically drops the 4G though--so it's pretty unusabale. Is anyone exploring external antenna options?

I live and work in Van Nuys and will provide full detailed reports on where I can get 4G service. Friday is the day I pick up my phone! :)

In downtown LA today and on the corner of Olive and 6th I got 4g with two bars. Ran speed test and got:

4.48 mbps download
0.98 mbps upload

Now at the corner of Grand and Caesar Chavez and the 4g has no bars and switches between 3g. Can't wait till this rolls out to all of LA!

2 bars 4G with no drops at 9th and Hope outside the Downtown Ralphs. Three bars along Seventh around Bixel. This reminds me of the old days of hunting for Wi-Fi. At least we no longer have to unscrew telephone wall plates and carry alligator clips--or acoustic couplers. That really dates me.

I work near there 7th and Pixel! Signal goes to 1 bar inside my building.

just rolled through downtown in the little tokyo area. los angeles street to south central ave, to 3rd street constant 3 bars on 4g (i think thats the limit or was it 4 bars? too many police roaming around at the time) all around that area. sorry no tests around temple street it went to 1 bar then dead on the freeway.

Please do! That's a stone's throw away from me (Chatsworth/Northridge).

I live in mission hills, no signal here. I work in chatsworth and have no luck either. I've tried looking for spots in porter ranch, north hills, sylmar, Granada hills but no luck. Will try to test more south of the valley this weekend.
