Question for anyone who bought the WiFi only version today, did it come in a big box with Verizon logos on it, and does it have a Verizon logo on the screen? or did Best Buy give me the Verizon version by accident.

There are no verizon logos on my wifi unit. You must have gotten lucky!

I picked up my wifi xoom at best buy and they only had 5. A guy came in right after me and got one too, leaving three. I just checked the best buy website, and now it shows that store sold out. that is good news, I hope this devices sell like crazy!

Now the question is, is there anything in the WiFi only version that has been upgraded since the manufacture of the 3g that would cause me to return it...

The extra 3G stuff doesn't do much good for me as there is no Sim card, so getting it activated on Verizon would most likely be a problem... I had never planned on doing that, but that was before i knew you couldnt connect the Xoom to an Ad-Hoc network (i was hoping to teather it to my iPhone)

I should have noticed when i turned it on and it tried to connect via 3G... lol

I was first in the door this morn to return the 3g and pick up the wifi. I was out the door at 11:15 and 3 more had been sold.

That is if you turn off the data plan, there is an easy option to suspend service that you don't have to pay to turn it back on and off again.

Ahh, that makes sense. Oh well, I saved myself the $200 anyway lol.

Got mine from Costco. They had 30 available when they opened. About 10 were sold at 11:30.

I also just loaded flash player 10.2 from the app store and it seems to work fine.

Believe me, I thought about just putting it up on Ebay, buying the WiFi again and pocketing the difference. But.. I just don't think i can bring myself to do it. i'll either keep it, or return it for the right one.

So far nobody's been able to tell me if there is any reason to switch, do the WiFi only's have anything that the 3G does not (being a newer build)

and if i keep the 3g and ever decide to get a SIM for it, is VZW going to give me a hard time?

I bought mine online and did store pickup at best buy. I got there and they couldn't find my order and finally just got one out of their cage and gave it to me. Yeah they gave me a verizon one as well for the price of a wifi only one. Best buy is having issues looks like.

I think that their Employees have no idea that there are two different models of it.

did your 3g unit come with a Simcard in it? mine's got an empty sim holder.

I have the 3g and it does not have a sim card. the Sim will be used when it is upgraded to LTE. By the way I do use the 3g on my xoom.

Yeah no sim card. I think that's just for the 4G once upgraded.
