Pie Beta

Anyone else having an issue with the gestures? All of a sudden swiping up in middle no longer goes to the home screen. It's bringing up the app switcher.

ETA - now it seems to be working fine. Might have just been an odd little glitch.

I'm having the same issue. I thought it might have been because I was running Rootless Pixel Launcher for my launcher, but when I switched back to Samsung Experience Home it's still doing the same thing. I finally turned gestures off because of it.

Hi. On beta as well. Using gestures is great except I can't swipe up for Samsung Pay. Am I missing something?

Edit. In the notification area I discovered that the Samsung Pay Hint swipe does not function when full screen swipe is enabled. 😀

Hmm, but does Samsung Pay open for you to the point where you can select a card to pay with?

I have screen gestures turned OFF and Samsung Pay forecloses everytime. I can open the App but not select a card to pay with.

Fingerprint scanner is also not working with banking apps for login authentication, (Chase, BofA etc) looking around to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

Fingerprint scanner on financial apps is working well for me. I can open the Samsung Pay app and pay from the cards I select. I'm on Tmobile.

How odd, I'm also on T-mobile. I reported the issue to Samsung using their bug tracker.

The inability to use fingerprint for financial apps... Banking etc... Is a known issue and is actually listed in Samsung's description of "things you can't do" in the beta.

Has anyone else lost their AOD? I have gone into the settings and cycled it on and off, restarted the phone but still no AOD...it's one of my favorite features.

It's not lost, Samsung changed the behavior of AOD. Now by default you need to tap on the screen for the AOD to appear for 30 seconds before the screen turns off.

To change this behavior, go into the AOD settings and look under "Display Mode" and select "show always" instead of "tap to show"

Dont worry, I thought the same thing as you or that something was broken 😅

I really like the tap to show.

Great, thanks so much for the reply!

Update:
(in case anyone else has this issue and stumbles upon this)

I was able to get Samsung Pay working again by turning off IRIS/facial recognition. Pay then worked by allowing me to authenticate by PIN. I was then able to turn IRIS back on so I can authenticate using IRIS or PIN but not fingerprints.

I troubleshooted further by removing saved fingerprints and reinstalling Samsung Pay but couldn't get fingerprints to work with Pay but at least I got IRIS to work with it for the time being. Others appear to have no issues with fingerprint auth and Samsung Pay though. I'll post back if I hear anything back from Sammy support.

Got mines updated...so far im disappointed. Too much changes that I feel didn't need. Some things i'm more annoyed than other things.

Gonna try it for a few weeks and see if it changes my mind. Luckly it's only beta, can always go back to Oreo.

I use Pocket Cast for listening to podcasts. There seems to be an issue - I originally thought it was something with my car and the phone. That's not ithe case though.
What happens is I play a podcast, once the screen goes to sleep, one minute later the podcast pauses itself. As soon as I pick the phone up and unlock it the podcast starts playing again. It does this even when not connected to any Bluetooth devices, just playing through the phone speaker. I just noticed that even if I keep the phone awake, the audio will eventually pause. I can't tell you all how annoying this is!
Any ideas???
Thanks in advance.

I have no fingerprint banking app login issues at all. I have no Samsung pay issues at all. Everything works just fine on my T-Mobile S9+

Settings > Apps > Pocket cast > battery > allow background activity. Remove the restriction to allow app to use battery.

Or uninstall and reinstall pocket cast. In Pie is will by default set the above permission.

I recommend you ask these questions in the Samsung members app so you keep it within the beta community.

Not having any issues here. Every once and a while I'll go back to the home screen and its blank, but turn the screen off then unlock it again and it's all there. Just a small glitch I'm sure. Everything works, the gestures are nice, battery life seems fine. Love the dark night mode.

Claykin - thanks a lot. I had gone to the app itself and looked in the settings, never even thought of what you suggested.
Thanks again!
