But for those interested in why checking for updates doesn't pull it like Google had said it should this story from AP is interesting: The 'Check for update' button on Pixel/Nexus devices still isn't pulling the latest OTAs as promised, but it'll be fixed in 2018
Because you weren't on the beta.I'm confused as heck now. I got the update on Verizon Pixel 2 XL, However my update size was 547.xx MBs... December security and the other bells and whistles, So I dunno why my update was so big.

You don't need to unlock a bootloader to sideload.Still no update, what's up with that? :-\
Oh well, hopefully tomorrow. I'd blame Verizon but I've seen posts from people on verizon getting it, so...
(update) seriously not here yet, was going to try to sideload, but forgot my Pixel 2 is from Verizon and is not able to unlock bootloader. Anybody know any tricks to get the update in a timely manner? I never had this issue with my OG Pixel.
Wish I still had that phone...
