First impressions of 64gb just black uk version.
Looks - v nice, no issues with the bezels. I'm not looking at them
Feel - v good, excellent grip and size for my hands
Speed - so quick and buttery smooth
Camera - not much taken but looks incredible so far. The detail in average light conditions, wow
Screen - looks really good to me. I prefer the more neutral colours against a friends galaxy 8+. Just my view. See some colour shift when tilting but it's just not relevant
Software - simple and stock. Just as I like. Fingerprint unlock is so fast
Not done any audio yet. So much more to do but so far it's all thumbs up![]()
I have had a Pixel for a year, and I will tell you that the Pixel 2 (not-XL) screen is a MAJOR downgrade over last years Pixel. Reminds me of the screen on my old Nexus 5. Washed - out, dull, etc. Would be acceptable only for a mid-range priced phone.
I've been using it for a day now and everytime I turn it on I'm like "this screen is a horrible". Really ruining my experience with the phone.
I have never felt like a new phone was a downgrade until the Pixel 2. If it wasn't for the improved camera it would already be in the return process, but I am going to give it a week. Still likely going back.
This is because the Pixel 2 screens are locked to "sRGB". If you set your old Pixel's screen to sRGB (in the Developer Settings) you'll find that the screens will have roughly the same color reproduction.
It's a matter of preference really... Me personally, I prefer sRGB over the more vivid screens. I even had my Nexus 6P set to always be on sRGB. The sRGB pallet is more accurate so it's easier for me to judge photos taken on the phone and how they would transfer to my PC or on prints.

yeah, vivid makes no difference on mine.
I'm happy with the colors too and don't plan on updating that , I am going to install a launcher though to make my home screen look to my preference ^^^
After 3 days I am sold on sRGB. No need for that ultra deep color saturation which now just looks unnatural and cartoonish. This is after years of Samsung AMOLEDs.
