Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL

I've been looking forward to finally getting a 6" screen!! Didn't even look at the smaller one.

This a 1000X over! That's why I skipped last year's pixel. With the loss of stereo speakers, small base storage, and smaller screen were deal killers for me. Coming from the 6P last year's pixel was a downgrade, imo. This year's though, looks to be everything I wanted in a phone last year.

Can't believe the XL is $200 more than the regular and $50 more than the iPhone 8 plus...I think that's going to be a mistake in the long run.

I'm coming from a Nexus 6 and I am spoiled by the nice big size and will not be going smaller, so the pixel 2 xl works great for me.

Ordered both the Pixel and the XL in black. I'm currently using the OnePlus 5 and I like the form factor a lot, especially coming from the Galaxy S8+. I still want to try both to see what suits me best. In the end, I can always return/sell which ever I don't like.

2 XL. Can't imagine downgrading from the 6P to the standard 2, judging from the TPU skin that I've already received the 2 XL is about the same size as the 6P

5 inch is great for one hand. I hate stretching my thumb and fingers across a huge screen.

To confirm my decision I had a play with a Pixel XL, HTC U11 and iPhone 7+ (similar sizes to the 2 XL), and with a first gen Pixel. And having done that I ordered a regular Pixel 2.

Had they gone 5.5" on the Pixel 2 and kept the same outer dimensions, that would have been great. It might have risked hurting 2 XL sales though. 5.5" and 6" aren't far enough apart to justify two models unless there's another major feature to differentiate them.

After owning both the Nexus 6p and the standard sized Pixel I have found that I much more prefer the smaller phone. Unfortunately the smaller phone in this case failed to keep up with the minimal bezel trend and for that reason alone I am going with the 2XL. I dont have any qualms with the bigger phones, I just like the portability of the smaller ones more, so when google made both of the OG Pixels identical I was ecstatic.

The 6p was at the size cusp of what I would carry around as a daily driver. The 2xl is slightly smaller so I think it'll be fine.

The more I think about this the harder it gets. I've used a phone as my only device for several years now, however, my wife still uses our Nexus 7 (yes it's still going!). It is getting a bit long in the tooth now so thinking of changing it. This has made me think about whether having one device is the right way to go when I can but a Pixel 2 and an Acer R11 Chromebook, so have a phone, tablet and PC for only a little more money than a Pixel 2 XL. Maybe it's time to try a different approach.

I'm thinking that despite the screen size differential, the battery will still last longer in the XL but I don't know for certain.

I've always wondered if you're better off with the bigger phone or not because of the higher resolution screen. In the time I had a Pixel the most screen on time I saw was 5 hours. In the 12 months I've had my Pixel XL I rarely see 4.5 hours.

Picked the smaller one... I prefer the compact phones... plus I always change my phone yearly...
