Yes, I've traded in cars, but I've also sold them outright because you get more value out of them that way.

I've never traded in a car. I'm guessing I've saved thousands that way. And cars are easy to sell.

I got $155 for my 2 year old 6P that wasn't in great shape. On Swappa, I'd be lucky to get $200. Minus the listing fee and shipping, I'd maybe get $30 more. I'm comfortable with my decision and would do it again.

Should op change the title of this thread? Looks like everything is turning out alright, late, but alright.
No. It took the OP a week of repeated contacts to get a resolution, and not everyone who has reported a problem with the trade-in program is in a position to say that "everything is turning out alright, late, but alright."

I don't expect I'll ever see the $135 that I was shorted, and I certainly doubt that I'm the exception that proves the rule.

I'm picking up another Pixel 2 and have an old Nexus 5x. I would only get $50 but here's the catch. The camera doesn't work. It just asks if it will turn on the screen is free of cracks, both of which I can answer yes. Will I have any issues getting this approved?

I traded in two OG Pixels. I was told a while back that they were both out in the same batch. However, today I received credit for one and not the other. The good news is they did give me the full quoted value. Hopefully, I'll have the same luck whenever they get around to looking at the other one.

Well . . . a full 4 days after they credited me for the 1st phone, Google credited me for the 2nd one. I was given the full $350 promised for each phone. It was a LONG process but everything seems to have worked out in the end.

My issue has been "escalated" 6 times since October 24th, and I haven't gotten so much as a case number out of anyone.

Just got mine took over a month

"value either matches or is more than the estimate" -

That's a pretty odd thing to say unless there are scenarios where they actually refund more than the initial estimate in some cases... Anyone turn in a 'perfect' phone that looked and operated like it had just been unboxed and receive higher than the initial estimate?

----------------------

Also, just hit the 6 week mark since they received my device. I guess I was wrong when I thought their '3 to 5 business days' was a typo that was supposed to be '3 to 5 business weeks' as we're well beyond that point. Here's hoping it's not '3 to 5 business months...'

Mine was in pristine condition, seeing as how I only had it for a month (they sent it to me to replace the 6P battery issue). It was in a case the minute it came out of the box and didn't have a scratch anywhere and looked brand new. I still just got the $400 they quoted.

Mine was also in "like new" condition - it was a 5x replacement I received & never used. It didn't have any indication of being a refurb, it didn't have a single scratch or any signs of wear when I got it & I didn't use it at all. I received only the standard $115 I had been quoted on the trade-in screen.

Is anyone else's shipped phone for trade-in delayed?? My USPS status says it was out for delivery to the trade-in company on December 9th. And the status says "In-transit, delayed"...wonder why?

I'm not sure what's going on with that. I get the same status when I checked mine. I ended up getting an email from Google stating that they received my trade in. I have also since received my full trade in credit back to my card. I checked just now my tracking number and it still shows the same thing. I believe it's an issue on the USPS website when it comes to the location where the phones are being sent to.

I also got my full credit today and my phone was not in good shape. I had an OG pixel XL 2 with some scratches on the screen and edges that showed a lot of silver from drops. This trade in process was not a nightmare for me other than the time it took.

Got mine today after about 3 weeks. My phone was perfect!

Great news! We have examined the device you submitted for Trade In, and its value either matches or is more than the estimate.
Look for a $410.00 refund to your payment method(s) in 2-5 business days.
