Pixel 2 Trade-In Nightmare - Buyers Beware!!!

You do not need to send in the charger or cable. I kept mine and still received my full $410 credit. All I sent was the phone, although I did put the padded envelope with the phone in it inside the shipping box for my Pixel 2 along with some bubble wrap. I didn't trust that little envelope.
What kind of shape was your phone in?

My phone was received November 3rd and was told the same thing as others were. They're backed up and to wait 2 weeks. Whoever google contracted has really dropped the ball and google has done nothing to restore my faith. Was going to trade in my wife's phone, but looks like I'll find another route.

They received my Pixel XL 128 GB on November 2nd and I received an email from Google today saying I got the credit for $410.

It was in really good shape. Kept it in a case since day one. Never dropped it. Screen had some micro scratches that were not visible unless it was off and you were looking at it from an angle with light reflecting off of it. Got them when I replaced my car floor mats which had dirt and debris on them and I stupidly touched and wiped my screen on my shirt.

I agree. I'll continue to sell my mint phones on Ebay after this. Not worth the aggravation and time spent on the calls, emails and tracking of it. Stupid me figuring the first time doing it would be smooth.
Ever get any resolution?

I feel like I'm the only one turning in a busted up phone. You guys sure take good care of your phones.

All I really do is put a case on it and always put it in my left front pant or jacket pocket by itself and am careful not to drop it. They've all stayed in good shape. The only phone I ever damaged was my old Nokia 3310.

They received my phone on November 14. Based on the responses I see in this thread it safe to say that I will be waiting a while before I hear anything from them.

I am also in the same boat, phone delivered to them on 11/14. I just chatted with a rep and he said wait another 2 week, but he thought of when my phone arrived it would be in 3-5 days. Then he said something that I couldn't believe:

Tim 4:24 PM
Let's hope for the best. I have seen some of the customers getting more than the estimated price. If we are lucky, we may get more than the estimated price too.

If anyone has actually gotten more I am sure we would have heard about it already. I am still in shock he would say this and think I was going to believe him.

And now Project Fi has lowered the maximum trade-in values for the Nexus 5X and 6P, to $50 and $70 respectively-- which oddly enough brings the max estimate more in line with receiving $15 for the phone and an additional $35 in credit after you complain. Looks like the same devaluation is in effect on the Google Store, too, even though an early page for the trade-in program is still announcing up to $165 for the 6P.

Ugh, they'd better not lower my credit, I only sent back the 5X because it was worth a decent amount. I also screen captured the higher amount, so if I don't get that I'll be pissed!

I literally just shipped my phone today and recorded the entire process. showed that it had 0 scratches and was more than mint condition. having a screen protector and a case the entire life of the phone helped and kept it scratch free. If Google tries to pull a fast one I have proof. I also shipped it back with it's original box and used the box that my pixel 2 xl arrived in vs sending it back in that small tiny envelop. That envelop literally hhad barely any protection it was so thing. I bet that's why people's phones got damaged when shipped back to Google b

Mine was received on 11/3 although they said 11/8 and I just got the following email:

We’re sorry, but due to the popularity of the program, it’ll take a little longer than we anticipated to inspect the device you submitted to Trade In. We’ve received it and will examine it within the next 10-15 days. Once that’s done, we’ll email you the results and the amount of your Trade In credit.

This delay won’t affect the estimate you received when you initiated your Trade In.

Again, our sincere apologies.

I got the same email yesterday. My trade in was received early November as well. This is absolutely ridiculous.
