Today's hike in the snow to Snow Lake, WA Cascades. It was a frigid 15F or -9C.
Calendar worthy, for sure! Beautiful photos!San Francisco after the rain.

Seattle's Discovery Park view. (and could someone tell me, again, what that white dot is all about - some internal reflection?)
That is a gorgeous scene.

Thanks. I walk there about three times a week - 3 mile loop. I also bicycle ride there - 15 miles round trip from the house. Compare the almost cloudless day with the one in Post 955 above - more typical.
Wow! Biking and walking around there must be amazing!
Well, a lot of the loop is in pleasant forest with two nice openings out to the sound. There's also a way to add another mile to the walk and hit the beach and lighthouse - a steep drop.
Variations on the bike ride can take a rider over the locks between Lake's Washington and Union to Puget Sound and while there visit the fish ladder during the right season and watch the salmon re-enter fresh water to spawn a hundred or so miles upstream.
Cheating but here's some taken with the KeyOne.
Okay, I was forced into it. Kicking and screaming, well, huffing and puffing. Down to the sea in ships, well, hiking shorts and running shoes (or in my case, walking shoes)
In the water/land image: See that one little tree standing by itself on the right edge of the left tree line - on a clearer day, Mt Rainier is located in that low spot. It you zoom in you can see the West Seattle Bridge in that low spot. The Olympic Mts, Olympic National Park is directly behind the lighthouse. I've got to get down there on a clear day after it snows on them.
